Lol, same boat :) Mine finally got a stuck pixel last week, after about 8 years of daily use.

Trouble is that it's 16:10, so jumping to a 16:9 27" only really extends it sideways without gaining any vertical increase. And the superwides, as people are regularly grumbling about, require playing the BLB lottery :<

Pretty happy so far, but I should point out it took a little play last night and some more play this morning to finally spot that Freesync is disabled if the BenQ's "blur reduction" option is enabled... I have a cold!;)

Note this is not the AMA option, which is the real "overdrive" option.

So having turned the "blur reduction" off, I found the "standard user" setting too bright, so I've reduced that to 50.

Really happy so far with the picture quality and how smooth Freesync is, when the framerate is in the 40-144fps range.

Image quality still looks good if I drop to 1080p @144Hz, something that could not always be said of my old PLE2403ws.

The stand, considering it comes in two parts, is incredibly rugged/secure and very quick to put together. You can carry it by the built-in handle at the top of the stand, but I felt the need to have my other hand under the lower bezel, due to the whole unit wanting to rotate a little (plus I was worried about placing too much faith in my assembly).

I thought the graphics card and monitor upgrade would encourage me to quickly splash out on a new cpu/mobo/ram/case, but right now I think I could quite happily wait until any Black Friday deals.
 
I hope that this proves to be a good choice for you :) but a TN panel? - I tried with an iiyama 28" 4k but it had go back as I could not get used to the colour fade; then again the gsync may make it acceptable - would appreciate your thoughts once it is up and running.

I do not intend to be at all critical - Hopefully I've got it all wrong and it is perfect for you. ( I do consider the monitor the most important bit of kit - but it is very personal )

I have personally not seen any real advantage in either g-sync or freesync BUT have seen the advantage of IPS over TN. (May be my eyes are 'out'?)

Would myself have probably gone with the hannspree - although I do like a change so if I had been changing from my existing dgm27" I would really want something 'new' :) (I did change recently and went , in the end, to the Dell 34" :D)
 
No I've got it setup at 144hz and now getting 90 -120 fps I uninstalled afterburner and riva tuner...

First impressions are bit flat TBH...it's super smooth but never ever had experience of 144hz and Gsync I'm not going wow TBH...

I thought it would be draw dropping...I can't really tell much over the Dell U3415W TBH...and that was a 60hz panel... The colours are not a patch on the U34 period...

I enjoyed gaming superwide more...it looks grainy to me aswell...ill play with some more settings but up to now I'm a bit meh about Gsync :(

I'm going to turn it off and play and then decide then if it's worth the money for me or not...

At the mo I'm feeling it's expensive for what it is...

I think monitor tech is so far behind now they have invented Gsync and freesync to inch every last ebb out of ,quite frankly ,tech that's been around for years...

TN and IPS are old hat...

Of course they aren't... one's a IPS panel and the others TN.

TN panels are fast and IPS have good colour reproduction. Not sure what else you were expecting? Gsync stops tearing nothing to do with grainyness or anything else image quality related for that matter. As for not buying Acer at any price, thats idiotic.

Seems the graininess I mention is to do with vertical lines appearing on certain things.

I walked up to a pole in BL2 holding up a shack and everytime I shot it looked like very fine verticle lines...

Having spent a few hours now gaming and playing with settings...Fine verticle lines appear
on objects when I shoot them

Its going back.
 
Would agree that at this price (Dell or this one) it should not be a panel lottery :(

Overall I believe that you have a few options:-

1. Have another try with the Dell (but back to luck of the draw.)

2. Try one of the va panels e.g 40" Phillips or AOC /Ben Q 32".

3. I was very tempted to get the 4k Benq 32" - only prob is that it is out of stock at the moment.

4. If you can cope with it go for the Hanspree 27" IPS and hold the 'big' purchase until the next gen of monitors are out.

That's exactly what I'm going to do....I'm going to film myself gaming on the dell and gaming on the
Hanspree

:D

I'm going to cheap it up...and at least try one out at £197

I'm going to compare them both...let's face it only a few manufacturers make these panels anyway...the rest is chassi marketing guff....
