The way I see it is you can't rely on SLI, Crossfire, silly wide screen resolutions that no one supports, ETC.
All you can do is take the best single GPU you can and give it a go.
agreed and that's why I'm confused by the 980ti vs fury X argument. Unless you're going to get a freesync/g sync 4k monitor just forget about it. how much is a g sync 4k monitor and a 980ti going to set you back? you have to go sli or xfire if you want 60FPS and even then you're going to want at least 6GB Vram and even that might not be enough in 1-2 years time.Actually - there isn't a single GPU card that's truly 4K capable
It's why I'm probably going 390 xfire over both of them even with my freesync monitor
Probably a good call - enjoy![]()
Then you open a whole new can of worms, Driver problems, Heat, Noise, power usage, a load more **** to contend with.

drivers and power usage yes, heat and noise not so much, will just go aftermarket or watercooled if I'm not happy with it. adds to the price but as it's a cheaper option than furyx and 980ti it's kinda a wash
also the dreaded AIO option. have one on my 290x right now and never goes above 57C even with the core at 1200, but think I will go custom loop at some point if the performance is what i'm after.Aftermarket Air coolers dump to much heat into the case with multiple cards. Watercooling definitely the better option.
FYI my post towards temps is Reference design. People saying 980ti Cheaper if you go Reference design. Start going this G1 or MSI extra £40 is £40 worth the extra 15fps? plus noise plus heat?
Prime example of how when it comes to AMD the price is relevant, the FX is as fast as the Ti, yet it should be under £400, the similar performing Ti is £500+, but that price is fine, go figure
No wonder AMD havn't got a hope in hell.
*Fury removed as i dont have experience with one myself*
980ti
Much more hotter and louder expect 80c + before even overclocking. This is true for the reference models.
Gsync *overpriced to oblivion but nice if you dont care about the premium*
Not going to mention Gameworks because most can be run on AMD also. But for me Physx is a winner even if games are so far between. *Physx imho has never been implemented very well. Look at borderlands 2 and how horribly physX performed there for something so stupid as fluids?!? Do i need to point to the Batman AK Smoke thats so overdone it looks like white liquid while killing the fps completely? My personal opinion of PhysX is its a cool tech with awesome demoes but not worth using as a reason for purchase*
GFE shadowplay amd need to pick up the ball here. *I can see why shadowplay is attractive to some or even a lot but the fact that its bundled into GFE itself makes it a no go for me. I rather use 3rd party software or other means but its a cool option for the casual folks*
Drivers nvidia have issues also.*Drivers have surely been a mess and i havent seen a WHQL driver yet(havent tried fallout 4 one as im stuck in a hospital) that works perfectly with my 980ti. Luckily not everyone have had the same issues i have and the latest dev drivers has been solid for me through and through*
quite pleased with my sapphire fury tri x, sure its not as fast as a 980 ti or fury x but aslong as its doing its job playing games fine then what does it matter, cost £407 cool quiet whats not to like
21.9 on fallout 4 working wonderfully here...

Yes I had to faff about with the config to get it to work but then I also had to faff about with this broken game to get the correct res with a proper FOV, graphic options applied properly as well as to remove things like mouse acceleration and add a config to get the game to use all 4 cores of my CPU....
More than 60% of games work fine with 21.9 too and for the few that don't, they are easy to fix with far simpler tweaks than what this game requires.
Also, people go with 21.9 monitors for more reasons than just gaming....

The fact is, right now, is that the AMD is actually the faster better card for 4k if you don't overclock. This has been proven. And many people don't overclock, making it the better choice.
So the Pip Boy screen and terminals both work perfectly?
