** POTENTIALLY THE BEST GAMING MONITORS YET!! ** Acer 34" Ultra-wides

Couple more options in the menu I think...including sharpness.

If your buing a new card you might be tempted to go AMD and save a few quid on the monitor if you already have a AMD or NV card just keep what you have and get the monitor to suit.

I know its a bit snobby but the fact the 980TI runs better/overclocks better would incline me to pay the premium for the G-Sync X34 version

For anyone still finding issues, scanlines etc, I found this kinda obvious but simple piece of advice on the Acer community forums:

"RESET YOUR MONITOR!!!

If you are having issues such as scanlines, loud buzzing noises and even trouble overclocking...reset the monitor.... go to the OSD and select "RESET". Allow it to cycle and then try your settings. This has resolved a great deal of issues. I had an issue with the loud high pitched noise and reset the monitor and it is gone. My monitor still has the wake from sleep issue. I've also confirmed this with a YouTuber who reviewed this monitor. He did the same and does not have the scanlines anymore and he is able to get the full 100hz overclock (he could only get to 90). My guess is these ship with a pre-installed profile and needs to be reset before any caliberation takes place. I hope this works for the rest of you!!!!"

I don't actually think this is the monitor, but anyone else experiencing the screen not going into stand-by when Windows turns the display off?

The image does go off and it scans through the inputs, as expected, but it stops on DP, which my PC is actually on, and the screen goes black, but it's still on...

same here, its the reason i went with the xr34 and the change went towards a fury, no regrets so far its a cracking monitor

Glad your enjoying your new display, I guess your not missing the sammy?

As for which one to go for well xmas is round the corner so who knows, what would be sweet is if ocuk did a black Friday deal. ;)

what is the actual difference between the two models? is it literally 75hz freesync 100hz gsync?

Check the TFTCentral reviews for both models but I assume the Freesync has a more fully featured internal scaler and will have more image processing options, inputs and maybe PIP or PBP?

The G-Sync module sacrifices features for less processing lag and a higher OC.

I've had two units both from Sept '15. Both would sometimes not illuminate the left side back lights from cold (until a signal woke them) but neither have shown this from sleep on my setup. 980 Ti + Win10 + latest drivers.

Will try when I get home but does anybody have any confirmation that this works for scan lines reliably?

I'd be very surprised if this works for the buzzing.

Noticed mine too does this, my pc turns the monitor off after 10mins of being idle but the back light remains on, any fix for this?

I also have this exact same issue. Windows 10. Light on monitor turns orange, screen black but back light stays on.

Ah, not just me then. Incidentally, my light stays blue.

Fury Tri-X if that matters.

Can't say it bothers me though, I always turn the monitor off when I'm not using it anyway.
