That's because you're not reading my posts properly:

I'm not saying his actions are ever justified, they're not.

he asked the girl to keep it secret that shows he knew what he was doing was wrong.

Maybe, maybe not.

I'm not pretending like I know this girl, but I know the fact that she was raped.

Like I said above, I'm not even sure we can take that as a fact.

That's more than enough for me! IF this boy does have learning disabilities then something should be done about that because he now poses a risk to the rest of society by thinking he has gotten away with what he has done..

Policing has taught me that things are never as simple as they seem. I've seen some cases reported in the news that I know much more about than is public and it sometimes makes me laugh how completely and utterly misrepresented they are. Therefore I am careful to to criticise a judge (or indeed anyone) when I know bugger all about the facts - especially when my only source is the press.

as you say you're right we don't know the full facts, but this is my stance and opinion on things.

My main point is that I'm not going to start ranting about stories I know very little about, because assumptions lead to stupid opinions.

The very sad thing about this is i actually used to live near this scumbag, i used to go childminders with him when he was a lot younger (about 8 or more years ago). He was always a weird one but this is absolutely disgusting, i'm surprised his house hasn't been bricked or he hasn't been beaten up yet.... Its such a small world seeing this on here.

Also as someone who lives near this area/gets the local gossip i can say that apparently the reason he did it was because he was 'pressured to lose his virginity' by his friends which is an absolutely disgusting excuse. Also word is that the police took away his game console and his parents rewarded him by buying a new one... Their whole family is ****** up if this is in fact true

In the eyes of the law, anyone under 18 is a child.

Also, many wars have been fought with child soldiers, so I can't see how that is relevant - you don't need to be an adult to fight in a war.

Given the minimal reporting, and the current assessment by the AG office, we may hear further in this case.
Personally I feel as voter, and tax payer I need to know the judgement in this case.
I need to know why the legal system I support has chosen the judgement it did in a case of a 5 year old who was apparently anally raped by a 16 year old.
Exactly what he pleased guilty to, and how the sentence was generated.

It is why I created the Op, I am aware of variable sentences, I just can't fathom any situation where someone does this and doesn't get some form of secure or custodial sentence. I fail to see any possibility of public protection.

Should you be giving a link giving the offender's name? I'd assume there are reporting restrictions in place given the media aren't naming the individual.
