What to do in a Paris style terrorist attack - PIA

Pre-1950's buildings that use 2 layers of bricks for the external walls will still offer way more protection that a new build house. Those old "Stalinist" concrete council buildings from the 60s/70s are pretty tough too.

What do new builds use then? Would have thought they have to conform to stricter insulation standards.

Seriously dude get a grip!!
You have roughly a 1 in 15.8 million chance of being killed by terrorism in the U.K!!
I suggest if you are going to stress yourself out at least engage your brain and focus on stuff that is 38,000 times more likely to kill you (ie road accidents, smoking, alcohol, obesity ..etc ..etc)

I don't believe your stat or is that annually you have a 1 in 15.8 million chance?

In the last 17 years I can count at least 86 murders in the UK and I was nearby when one of the bigger ones happened. The forum has 125k members, if the OP helps even just a couple of people at some point in their lives then what does it matter?

If you are shot at, move and move fast. If you can, move across the line of fire and not directly away from the shooting. If you are part of a group, scatter in different directions. This may confuse the person with the firearm, long enough to find cover.

Do not take cover behind vehicles. Pistol bullets easily pass through both doors of a car; rifle bullets can pass through a vehicle lengthwise; grenades, mortars and cannon shells can destroy most vehicles altogether. Stopped or disabled vehicles are "bullet magnets" that draw fire. The best protection provided by a car or truck is its ability to move away at high speed. If forced to take cover behind a vehicle or inside one, put the engine block between yourself and the shooter - it rarely gets penetrated by small arms fire.

Walls, trees, and structures provide concealment, but may not provide cover. The 7.62mm round used by the AK-47, a common assault rifle in war zones, can pass through a concrete block. The less powerful 9mm pistol round can go through a dozen layers of sheetrock.

A rule of thumb to keep in mind is the 'three-second rule' which basically states if you need to move to another place of cover, it should not be more than a three second sprint away. A good phrase to remember (if possible) is: 'I'm up, He's seen me, I'm down.' Basically, you are up out of cover and moving (fast), you assume the shooter has seen you and is taking aim, and then you are back down behind suitable defensive cover before he can fire.

Grab the nearest Defib off the wall and proceed to bunny hop and dolphin dive your way to the nutter :D

Or we could just arm every women in this country because wasn't there something about them fearing death by the hands of a women? Pretty good deterrent I'd say :P

Works in Half life :D

Although IRL, get out, but remember that if the area is very crowded (gig etc) that the exits are a) probably covered and b) can't take everyone trying to escape at the same time.

I'm not stupid, I saw this coming and started planning for it ages ago. For the past few years I've been regularly shooting myself with small calibre rounds, slowly building up the calibre until I have built up a resistance to any calibre up to, and including, 7.62.

Why
Getting ALL targets away from these brainwashed murderers and then waiting for specialist teams who are both equipped and trained for these situations is Shirley the sensible and logical thing to do!!
Standard police officers are neither equipped or trained to deal with such a situation and would be on a suicide mission if they tried to apprehend the murderers !!

58/(15 years x 61.2 million) = 63.2 in 1000 million or 1 in 15.8 million
