Why do Turkey even possess F-35s sigh. You know when i said earlier about death by facepalm. Favouring Turkey over Russia... They need to get thier people out of occupied Cyprus first and then kick them out of NATO and suspend all talks about them entering the EU also.

I would rather have Putin invade and be called comrade than be a Turkey ally, And that is saying something. This whole anti-Russia rhetoric is just insane what is the problem these daays anyways? Thier human rights abuses are peanuts compared to Turkey or the house of Saud who again is another ally!

This is going to cause a stir, although there were warnings of violating airspace, what were the Russians doing? assuming they didn't get authorisation

Indeed.. however Putin needs, politically, to be seen as a great power to maintain power within russia. I think the US need, politically, to sell the bad-mean-russians to gain votes. In reality I think that russia has some aspects that are driven by internal politics (i.e. absorbing Ukraine and looking at other spots) to become USSR-sized power again.
Both are driven by people with stuck-in-the-wool politics (i.e. common people) and their large military industries. Without those I think they'd be less inclined to push each other's buttons and invade states..

I imagine this is a fairly big issue. Given that Donald Trump is a front runner at the moment there's obviously still a decent proportion of the US population stuck in a wildly skewed version of the world where, presumably, the evil 'Commies are out to get them still.

One of the Russian pilots is apparently dead. There's a video circulating.

The video posted online shows armed men around an alleged Russian pilot who seems to be unconscious and immobile. His face is bruised and bloodied. The men seem to be happy and are praising Allah, with some regretting that they hadn’t burned him on the spot.

"A Russian pilot," a voice is heard saying as a group of men gather around him. "God is great," a voice says.

Just saw the video on Youtube, Filled with nice moderates chanting Allah Ackbar. At this rate i am going to say again stfu Turkey and Nato. I pray this turns out to be in Syrian airspace so Russia can spank Turkey back to the medieval period.

Call thier bluff NATO could never muster the support to attack Russia for a closet Islamist wannabe super-power. Not with China at thier backs and a divided Europe. At this rate i think Hungary might be re-thinking who thier real friends are too.

Doubt it.

I cant imagine how that path took long at all in such a jet. Surely it would have crossed in seconds. To think Turkey scrambled jets and decided to shoot one down in such a short space of time is rather overkill.

Feel bad for the pilot :(.

Obviously it wasn't such a short period of time, and it's reported he had multiple warnings....anyway, it's far too early to know exactly what happened, we don't even know whose airspace he was in

*shrug* it's a dangerous job, they know the risks.
