** POTENTIALLY THE BEST GAMING MONITORS YET!! ** Acer 34" Ultra-wides

Can anyone with this monitor view this page and let me know if they get a wine coming off there screen please. Only does it when full screen and if I highlight enough of it, the noise goes away.

I can on the G-Sync version same as opening a full white page but I did have to put my ear right by the screen.

Probably already mentioned a few times but set the lowest brightness you're comfortable with helps in general.

I suspect there may some gains from tweaking the internal screen mounting for what BLB there is but I'm not taking mine apart to try! I can reduce mine with the very slightest of pressure in the very corner tip.

Brightness makes no difference, nor do any other setting other then changing the refresh rate to 30hz. I currently have the brightness on 30 normally. It's worse on that page then a fully white screen which i don't have any issues with.

I thought the coil whine came from having the brightness under 40?

I thought that to, but maxing it out makes no difference other then burning my eyes out. It does seem to make a difference on white backgrounds, but it does also seem to be effected by what colours are shown on the screen.

There is no way of knowing what causes my issue and whether I could find another selection of colours that makes it worse. For all I know when OcUK update there forum it could makes it worst making me a sad panda. In that Acer link there is already one other person showing this issue, I have asked OcUK to check it on any monitors they have laying around.

Edit: OcUK haven't got any laying around to check.

You guys remember that OcUK is a business and not a charity yeah?? ;) :p

I'm sure Gibbo will smash this price up as much as possible!!

But I'm guessing these are flying out for Acer, and they personally won't feel the need for a massive discount...

Yea...to be completely frank, I really don't think Acer should be commanding such as price premium considering their brand and poor CS reputation (and also with negative report of them doing so poorly as a business and wouldn't be strange to fold at any time, which would mean the warranty become useless IF that happens)...but they are getting away will it exactly due to lack of competition in the market...much like how Asus was charging the moon when they brought out the first 4K monitor :o

For the price I'd much rather have a BenQ or Samsung, but shame neither of them has made monitor of similar spec with Freesync/Gsync; Samsung in particular has really dropped the ball introducing new UltraWide monitor but with not sync feature.

Have to agree, competition is much needed in this segment and should bring the pricing down. Until then I'm guessing they'll be making hay whilst the Sun shines ;) :D

Hi,

I brought an X34 from ocuk recently but returned it as I had the g-sync scan line issue and with all the other problems with it, my confidence was sapped. I was intending on waiting for the Asus PG348q, but with all the black Friday deals, I might be tempted. Have all the issues with the X34 been resolved now?

Thanks
