** POTENTIALLY THE BEST GAMING MONITORS YET!! ** Acer 34" Ultra-wides

wow that is so nice :D:D, im so set on buying one now cant wait :)

Must be wisky and orange judging by the top left there lol :p, wish mine was that close

Hope it cures your issue m8! Tbh, if mine did 95 I wouldn't be too bothered as long as everything else ran fine (sleep etc is more important for me, which is fine)

Again, when you add the Ti it might change another variable and be fine at 100...

Your right mate. I was really disappointed at first but when i break it down my only issue is im 5hz off the max, which does them 5hz honestly make a noticeable difference, probably not. I have got a really good monitor in terms of BLB, there is no sleep issues and no scan line issues as far as i can tell. I also have a very good manufactured monitor with no visible poor craftmanship.

I was lucky enough to put it through my brothers game and only paid £780 anyways. It sounds like im trying to justify it but i am really happy :)

The 980 TI didnt solve the issue and neither did a new DP cable

Excellent monitor guys honestly dont know what to do with the desktop space haha

Me too man, I was lucky it seems (esp for a Sept build!!). A little IPS glow but nothing deal breaking

For me this monitor is a keeper, 3 years easy I think (until the 39/40" Gsync UW's are out with DP 1.3 and 4k+ ;)). If it is for you then it shouldn't bother you (hell, I can't tell the difference between 85 and 100hz tbh lol!!)

I agree that 5hz isn't going to be noticeable at all. I remember jayztwocents on his video couldn't manage to get his to go from 100-101hz so Acer really have pushed it as far as it can go.

This is why i love UW:

What game is this ?

And im now thinking of taking the plunge in getting one of these for my new system I have just very nearly buit ..is the price these are at staying at that price ? Or is it the weekend only deal (black friday) .I got a new desk coming Monday too at 1800mm wide , wondering if i can
Get away with having both my monitors on desk ..thing is would I want to keep my Philips 40in 4K ? With this UW ..will the philips over power it in size and then think Ive made a mistake getting the Acer ..I've never really rated acer to be honest but this just ticks all the boxes ..damn imagine 2 side by side ..

The game is Star Citizen which is in very early development. Probably about 2 years away form completion.

Top pic is from the coming soon Mini Persistant Universe release and is on a large space station.
The bottom 2 pics are in my hangar, do have another ship but it's not ready for release yet.

I won't go in too it too much as there is a big thread in the pc section plus there is lots to mention.

Does anyone know if the curve on the Predator is less than the Sammy 34" ultra wide?

I had a Sammy for a bit but did not like the VA colour shift or the curve (curve was too much for me distorting images)

If the curve is less than the sammy I'm tempted to try this panel out if so!?

i would say yes the acer is slightly less curved than my old samsung

Really!!?? Did they state that or is it an educated guess? If I'd have known I'd have never bought it :D :p

I think it says on the site they're expecting end of 2016, but I can very easily see that date moving back. 100mil obviously isn't enough to get work done quickly :P

Sidenote; what framerate are you guys getting at 3440x1440? I get ****ing dog**** 20-25 regardless of what graphics present I use in it - low-very high all the same O.o

Please don't talk Star Citizen here, it triggers me and I'm trying hard to stay away from anywhere in the interweb that talks about it. As big as it is claimed to be it still fits perfectly in a 18x18 pixel gif

Due to Fallout 4 quirks I've been limiting my FPS to 75Hz via Aftterburner and when it's able to sustain that, basically anywhere outside of Boston, then I don't notice any loss of smoothness compared to a higher refresh.

With a single 980 Ti pushing the full 100 Hz/fps isn't a priority for so long as the G-Sync is working in game. Windows desktop use does benefit though with a higher refresh.

Sometimes the gsync red ambient light stays on (and if enabled the FPS counter remains in the corner) when I'm just in Windows desktop and not a game - anyone else get this? I'm wondering if there's a game that's not quit or something else activating gsync.

Just a quick question actually. How do you know g sync is working in game with this monitor please (no screen tearing is obvious but some games are easier to spot than others) Should they be an LED that turns on/off such as the Rog swift?

in NVidia control panel
Click on setup GYNC (You can also enable GSYNC in windows mode which is useful)

And at the top menu (right at top)

Click Display -> GSync Indicator

When GSYNC is used - a little box will be displayed

My monitor is only running @ 30hz when not in game guys

anyone know why this is? i suspect its a setting issue, i run it in game mode setting

Im just home from the boxing last night and im very hungover so its most likely a user issue :D

the screen has a very thin bezel but at left / right / top there is noticeable blackness between bezel and desktop

Is this normal? If not how do I fix :)
