How can you downplay the incident so much? It was worse than terrorism, your basic human rights were laid bare, exposed to these evil doers. Too hot on a train in Britain! You're a far better man than I would have been. The sheer courage, audacity even, go simply stand up and close the window because you might have become slightly chilly. Sir, I applaud you! Your patriotism to Britain will not go un noticed, and I for one will contact the queen to ensure you're mentioned in the new years honours list for services to British transport!

I was about to move but I had picked the seat specifically and i was annoyed because of the principle of it. Just inconsiderate and self centred. It wasn't a massive incident, she left the window closed in the end.
she just opened the window without consideration
An act of defenestration may have been appropriate for the 'lady' in question.![]()
then into work and brag about your manliness
Why do that when you can brag to the world (internet) about telling her off for being hot?
Tbh, it annoys me when people do that on the bus on a cold day.
It's just dumb because they open the window right above them and the only people who get the breeze are the ones sitting further back.
Still, lolgroen anyway![]()
Reminds me of one of my Dads old National Service stories.
He, with others, was stuck for hours roasting in a troop transport on an airstrip in some god forsaken tropical place.
He became (briefly) a bit of a hero for prising a porthole out of the side of the aircraft to allow some air in.
(Think a dinner plate sized piece of perspex retained by a big rubber gasket, like and old style car windscreen back when they still did things sensibly)
Unfortunately his heroism was short lived.
Once the plane took off he and his fellow passengers now had to deal with a 300MPH draft and he wasn't quite so popular any more.
(What actually happened to him afterwards I do not know, he never told me that bit!)![]()
