***** The Official Division Thread *****

Was watching a live stream of it last night before it got taken down but it was not taken down by the video streaming site but by the devs on the guys console lol. He was happily playing the game and them bam, a message pops up saying his game account - not XBL account - has been banned! I pmsl, poor guy :D. Well serves him right for streaming live, if he's got a video capture device just save the video and upload it.

The game looks a bit meh right now, huge similarities to Watchdogs and looks like the kind of game where boredom and lack of variety will soon set in. Some parts the graphics looked nice though.

Never seen the point of NDA's, especially these days when I can stream a gameplay video on my phone, sat on a train lol. A gamer playing the game instead of some scripted, 'predetermined' gameplay sequence by the devs far surpasses talking about it on a forum. Gameplay vids reveal all!

The alpha isn't for potential customers to get early access to the game, it's for the developers to get some real-world feedback and load-testing. Anyway, if you do leak/stream anything, expect to get black-listed from any future alpha/beta programs.

It's nothing like watchdogs...It's more like borderlands/destiny in a real world setting but with a number of other mechanics (which I won't discuss). It's an extremely small portion of the game not just in terms of the map but the amount of game elements that aren't available. If you were a part of the alpha you would know that, I'd hazard a guess that 95% of the game is locked down (map and gameplay elements).

Anyway I'm looking forward to the beta (but will likely play that on PC as that's the platform I would get it on), I was extremely pessimistic about this but following on from Siege, I'm definitely looking forward to this again. Hopefully when beta rolls around a lot of the other parts of the gameplay will be opened up but as it stands it's very enjoyable.

Also streams will never reflect what you'd actually see on your own TV or monitor. I'd never judge a games graphics from watching a stream because they generally all look really bad.

Put another 3 hours in last night, and apart from having little to do now because all the missions have run out, it's immense fun to play.

The map will be huge, it's not just the city, but also the subways, the drainage system plays a part too, then the DZ which was fantastic fun last night, Can't wait to play the full game now.

I wasn't streaming it, just watching the stream on my phone.

You mean the bullet sponge enemies - normal human men and not fantasy monsters I might add - that show a damage counter ala Borderlands and take 50 odd bullets to actually die.....yipee.

Watching a stream at 1080p direct feed and not iphone shakey hand cam is a very good way of judging the game both for gameplay and graphics.

It will get average reviews at release, 6 or 7/10 I'd guess at most.

Does 'try meleeing a dog ingame' break the NDA? lol, you'll see what Im on about ;)

Can single shot kill most enemies with my scoped rifle. All depends on damage output stats and weapons. You have an awful lot of negativity given you haven't played it and watched one stream. Fair enough you don't have any interest in the game but for those of us that are playing it, it's been a largely positive experience.

have the graphics changed at all since the original gameplay videos were released

ie:- like what ubisoft did with watchdogs etc

Put it this way, the PC version is going to look damn good. I'm impressed that the xbox one is able to handle it, framerate is pretty consistent too.

Exceeding expectations then?

IMO, yes but then I went in with fairly low expectations. Will await beta once more of the map and gameplay is opened up before giving it a passing grade but first impressions are good.

Its hard to say exactly what has changed but yes, watching the original reveal gameplay - probably being played on a high end PC - to now, it does not look amazing. It does look good at times but its inevitable that devs flaunt their bull-videos to begin with before 'tweaking' things. Basically Im not blown away by the visuals but it looks good, its basically Watchdogs level of graphics with some extra 'nice bits'.

The worrying part is the content, its lack of it and possible boredom factor. In fact, Destiny would be a good comparison - if you like grinding, shooting at the same enemy a lot and generally just collecting loot to level up then yeah, youre probably on to a winner.

Watching a stream right now. It just comes across as a 'grindy' game for 'stats upgrade lovers' and not much else. I struggle to enjoy games where you lob a grenade at an enemies feet or shotgun him to the face and theyre still standing. Imagine a 'real life', post apocalyptic Borderlands mixed with Destiny (player interaction, like a little wave or give them the finger) in the Watchdogs engine.

A compressed 1080p stream isn't representative of what is on screen, the compression alone would kill considerable detail. Regardless I wouldn't say it's bull with the snowdop engine, it's quite a bit better than watchdogs (the lighting and specular details are impressive). The PC version should look pretty damn good when it releases. However, the xbox one version is always going to have to make compromises, unfortunately that's a limitation of consoles. I will say that this isn't another watch dogs situation, it's pretty close to the 2013 E3 trailer, and bang on for what was shown at E3 2015.

On the gameplay point, there is an element of that really, but then destiny/borderlands haven't struggled with it...abilities, base building etc need to be opened up fully before I can comment on the content factor. But yes it's going to be mostly around levelling, loot (weapons and gear to improve stats), base building and abilities along with whatever mission structures they have in place.
