RIP MSI GTX 970

Got the exact same cooler and a shiny 980Ti underneath it! Hope this doesn't happen to me

Well if you don't mind being without a pc for a month or two and being low balled for your gpu, dont worry. 980ti = £550 so corsair would offer you about £300 no matter if its a day old or 60 days old. Then you have to ship it to the US wait a week for them to look at it then 3-4 weeks for that crap offer to clear to you bank.

Great customer service corsair!

Everyone bigs corsair up about the great service they provide and yes I agree when its an rma, because you can send the part to holland and get a replacement in a decent time, but lowballing for gpu caused by their water cooler and the time it takes is ridiculous. If you don't have money to spare then your looking at almost 2 months before you can get a replacement gpu if they dont lowball you.

Post this to the PCMR sub reddit, that will pick up the hype train with lots of exposure and there are a lot of corsair reps on there.

Looking at this thread I can't help but chuckle at how much money they're losing through ****** courier service. You'd think this is an ideal opportunity to tighten up and save a few pennies. Also, why would they need to do it all the way in California? Seems like pretty weaksauce from a business perspective.

I will be doing this if I get a similar low offer and they won't give me at least an on par performance UK amount. I know corsair has been very active there the last few weeks doing giveaways and stuff. And handing out 25% off coupons to anyone who entered.

Got email from Corsair below so I removed link because of competitor link:

Craig,

Our warranty indicates Corsair is not responsible for any taxes or shipping (http://www.corsair.com/en/support/warranty). However, we have requested for a review of the claim and will adjust the amount to 338.82 USD / 225 GBP. Below is a URL of our price source:

http://www.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Please confirm with the revision above, and provide the requested bank information for further processing.

Best regards,

Corsair Damage Claims

After read the warranty link realised Corsair will not cover taxes, new offer is just above $329 MSRP and I will accept £225.

£225 will almost get you a new 970 and you got a better cooler. Ended up ok then I guess. When I used Corsair for a problem with my 600t case (side panel latch broke) they didn't just send me a new latch, they sent me an entire new side panel with new latches installed. Amazing customer service.

I use corsair quite a lot. Fans, cooler, case etc

@AthlonXP1800

If your happy with that then I guess thats fine, Im still waiting on a response for my 780 ti, but in the end your still out of pocket for a new 970 and had to be without a gpu for a month +, still dont agree with that personally. Would expect them to cover the UK cost for 970 at least.

My experience with Corsair support has also been pretty amazing. Had issues with their vengeance 2000 wireless and when i contacted support to figure out if there was something i could do software wise they just said they would send me a new headset. Really quick and amazing costumer support which is why i prefer corsair for most things as if something should fail within warranty i know i wont have any issues getting it sorted out.

I agree they have a good rma service, but the damage claim service is not what its made out to be and its been like that since 2012 at least, you imagine your cooler leaks and your without a gpu for over a month and they offer you less than it costs to get a similar replacement. Not everyone is in the financial position to just overlook that or deal with it.

So the bottom line is, their products are great when they work, but if it breaks and damages your kit, you will end up out of pocket.

Of course if that is fine with you then all is well and dandy, but if it isn't then just don't use their products.

I don't like Corsairs stuff TBH, it seems these days they operate on a good name but actually build pretty mediocre stuff.

I tend to Google what i intend to buy beforehand, if you Google "Corsair pump leak" you do get back a lot of results, Google "Kraken pump leak" and you get nothing, so i went for the X31 which has a 6 year warranty.

It also does its job well, it keeps my 4690K sub 75c @ 4.7Ghz - 1.3v (stress tested) while the fan doesn't even get to 1700 RPM, so its reasonable quiet.

Not bad for a £60 unit.

I did the same with my PSU, googled the ones i was looking at and excluded the corsair PSU's right away, ended up with the EVGA.

Gone back to air (Noctua) after reading this thread. Just not worth the risk. 6 Noise Blocker XL1 case fans @ 5v and 2 Noctua NF-A9 PWN's on the heatsink. Worry free and fairly quiet.

you and me both.. Ive also went back to air.. I went for the Phanteks PH-TC14PE cooler.

Considering flipping my rig upside down so if the H100i leaks it won't be on my gpu

might look a bit weird but would do the job

Very interesting, I googled it and really surprised to see people reported Kraken pump failed and it didn't ever leaked but send CPU temp through roof.

I was surprised to see a delivery on Thursday, it was brand new H80i GT send from Corsair in Netherlands so I won't open it to have it installed until I have both new GPU and backplate in first cos I was worried the new cooler could leaked on motherboard USB and switch cables. I ordered MSI GTX 970 cheaper from competitor plus nice cashback, also send enote to customer service to asked which revision I ordered then when I got revision detail and I will order EKWB backplate.

When H80i GT fail and leaked in future then I will switch to Kraken watercooler that don't leaked when pump failed. I googled that Kraken watercoolers was customised designed by Asetek and found list of watercoolers used Asetek designs:

Yes flip upside down will do the job.

Corsair launched new inverted ATX case.

Some people may like new inverted ATX case but I dont like it because side window is on other side. I wished Intel bring back BTX motherboard so everbody can place watercooler at bottom of case and worry about leaks became a thing of past.
