They are recommending the 32bit version over the 64bit!?!?
Why not just release 32bit until the 64bit is sorted then release that?
 
And I'm 7K LY away from being able to buy a Scarab but I thought I'd give a Planetary landing a go, figured if I crashed, it'd be a quick way to get one...

Very first landing, watched a few on YouTube from the BETA and can't understand why they were struggling so much, I only have the D Rated Thrusters on the Asp too for weight/FSD Jump range so it's not very nimble, but it was a doddle.

But as soon as I get close to a planet my FPS just plummets on my trusty olde 7970, still playable although I'm thinking those planets with big Cities on them will be a big struggle and I may finally have found an excuse for an upgrade at long last.
 
Try it on a high G world ;)

Don't forget there are settings for the planetary graphics that you can dial down to gain better performance.
 
'4' (unless you have changed the default bindings, it's the button that used to focus on the scanner) and then select deploy SRV.
 
Yeah in my srv driving now thanks :) I did intend to explore a small crater I saw upon approach but that's larger than expected. Lost forever! :'(

Played this for few hours tonight when it finally downloaded.

Bloody 3h 45min! :(

Am well impressed, I landed on 2 planets one ice and one metal and went for a forage.

Done a few barrel rolls in the buggy and smashed my diamond back explorer into the deck a few times but no death. By the way DBX is useless now! :mad:

Worth £30? Its another world down there so its a yes from me. ;)
 
OK found my sidewinder, recall ship. However the nearest station on said planet was 500km away and didn't have time for that now.. Maybe tomorrow though! I need cash.

even if you gave the key away, somone would need to have an account with them to use it, so basically, no, no point.

From their site...

I took on a mission last night to see what the new one's were about and I was in my nice shiny A rated Corvette and it was to take 14 cannisters of consumer tech and meet up with someone "in space" - out I went and after 30 mins of checking USS etc, I finally meet someone who gives me new orders and I fly to the new system and fly around again for 30 mins, I finally see him and follow his wake, which tells me to go to an outpost and deliver the goods..... Abort mission :(

That was a waste of roughly 90 mins all told :(

I did manage to record some footage on the DK2 though but you obviously lose everything that VR gives. I wasn't comfortable either and I am looking massively to the left to get it centered and clear the left black bar.

Funny, if I had just spent that much cash on a new ship I'd be looking at killing stuff with it! How does the corvette handle n battle? Any comparisons to a anaconda?

Where can you get Horizons for £30 from ? I can only see £49.99 with a loyalty £10 off on the Frontier store.

Shields are not so good but it moves very quick for its size, so that helps. I have had a few battles and come out with ease but only NPC's.

I got it sorted in the end and I had to redo the SteamVR calibration thingy and the 0.8 SDK now runs sweet as and I can record it.
 
Had a quick play late last night, then spent a few mins buggering about with key binding so I'm comfortable in the SRV. Does feel immersive, so that's cool.

Unfortuntely my frame rate has gone to crap and is roughly half what it used to be (AMD 280x). I've toned down some of the settings which helped a bit, but hoping for more.
