Is BMW 6 Series A Reasonable Consideration For A Next Car?

You need the newer 3 series, but you'll only be able to afford a 320d.

That's not true, main dealer 328i's are occasionally available for under £20k. I'd imagine they are more widely available at his pricepoint at independant traders.

That would be a good shout then if you get find a decent 328i under 60k miles.

That thing is a perfect example of blingy car culture. Zero spec bit covered in stick on tat, perfect style before substance.

But it worked for them, they sold it! It did seem about 3k overpriced.

Focus ST - I just didn't like the tiny screen and thought it was a bit overpriced. (It was actually a 2014 ST2 model for over 18k).

This is a classic, want a new car design with an old car budget. Join the back of the queue :)

Yeah.

If its image you're after, lease a brand new car and then post about how you could have bought a Porsche instead.

If I was after just a car I'd stick with the £700 faultless Ford Focus.

At 18k it's not really worth getting something you don't like the look of just because it has a good engine. It should have both.

If you dont understand the functional differences between a good new car and a £700 focus, then a white mercedes with a diesel engine and loads of AMG branding is perfect for you

I love the older 6 series. Just wouldn't have one because I know like any BMW in that range, they cost a fortune to keep on the road at that age.

My dad bought a 2007 650i convertible in 2012 for about £12k, and its cost him about 1k per year in repairing faults (plus tyres, servicing), including a new roof motor mechanism. Which isn't loads but he only does about 3k miles per year in it.

He loves it though and is happy to continue paying to keep it in good condition.

That is an old shape coupe, which ran until 2013 when the 4 Series replaced it. That car is a US import, over in the US they got a 328i in that shape, we never did.

All the new model variant 3 series have idrive.

I think you need to do a significantly greater amount of research before you ***** £18k on a car that was released 10 years ago

This seems to be a random car spamming session. We've gone from a 640d to some random US spec imported base 3 Series in the course of one thread.

If you are honestly that unbothered by what it is why spend £18k?

You can get a 3 Coupe of that shape, with iDrive, for about £7-8k if you pick a 2006 325i.
