using x55 and everything is bound.. dont have to lift hands off either throttle or stick...

works flawlessly and yea playing with a hotas is so immersive..
gotta upgrade my 970 tho FPS as low as 25 on some of the planets

Just bought my first dedicated freighter i.e. a Type6 to try it out.
Have to say, I actually found it quite exciting, despite it having no weapons at all. I couldn't see the point in arming it with weapons only inline with a Sidewinder. Clearly it can't fight it's way out of a paper bag, so planned to use the "run away" option it interdicted. So I ended up in basically a big bus, no guns, not that fast. Doesn't half focus your attention on being precise in flying and minimising time between jumps.
The only problem was that I still struggled to make any genuine profit in normal trading, even though I'd planned my routes using a couple of seemingly good online trading websites for suggested locations and commodities. When I can make more money in a Cobra just smuggling, makes me wonder why bother.

Some people like trading... it's all about choice isn't it. I have enough funds to run a well kitted Anaconda but don't as I don't enjoy it, I stick to my Vulture and Asp, if I'm going to do any trading I'll almost guarantee it'll be in my Python, I just don't enjoy the big ships.
I really enjoy trading when I find a decent route. Not for the credits either but just find it satisfying. But saying that, I enjoy pretty much all of what ED offers but can find doing something too long gets repetitive, so I move on after a short time and do something else.
I spent a week exploring and that was pretty awesome but by the end, I couldn't for the life of me scan another planet lol but come next week, I will probably be at it again.

I don't get this game
I tried to find beer for mission 1, failed miserably, its hard to control, over complicated, how the hell do you find stuff you sent to get ?
Also I keep having to look at the controls in options as there are so many......... not the xmas I thought it would be after reading reviews!!
Still, back to work soon and I wont have time to play games again, lol

When looking for things for missions, I use thrudds

click on lists, fill in the details and it will tell you where to get it from and the closest. As for the controls, you learn them as you go and shouldn't need to look after a while but you can assign pretty much all of them to easy use pads/sticks/KB

Ok I give up - i got attacked by someone and entered an escape vector, flew around around until their red dot vanshied and stuck to the escape vector for like 10 mins.......nothings happening...............im just stuck in the vector thing (what the hell is it anyway) even if i follow it constantly , its just sitting there now in the vector, nothing on the scanner, i just cant drop out of it, going 17.4c no matter what i set the throttle to ------ is it a bug ?
PS: I pressed J, X, etc all the controls, tried to go to map view nothing works, i can only steer the ship with my joystick

Ok stuck again, I have to deliver some data to a station - so I have got to the station without being scanned, but I cant sell it, and have to be 20 light years away ?! I dont get it......... why send me to the station in the 1st place then ?!?!!?

only time i've died is investigating a strong signal source and finding 5 ships ready to rape me...
absolutely love this game.... made over 2m credits now and upgraded my starting ship.. thinking of buying a new one tho!

I've noticed of late that there seems to be some sort of interdiction bug, can be flying along, nobody near me, then get the sounds as if I am being interdicted, a message from nobody saying they have me now etc but I just carry no flying about like normal lol..
