***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

In my panic to buy a tumbler for my nephew I now have a spare one as he managed to get one from smyths and I paid 200 for it. That will teach me haha.

From the above, it seems to be like 5% of sets are missing pieces, that's pretty bad!

Multiply that by the average number of pieces though, to get the percentage of pieces missing.

In truth, I'm still just impressed they manage to get all the pieces correct most of the time, considering the rate they produce them. They are pressing around 500 pieces a second, 24/7!

If you think of it that way, I'm am thinking more in terms of a complete product, like if 5% of iPhones gets reported as broken it would be catastrophe, or 5% of anything like games, cars, TV.

I was expecting something like below the 1%.

Regarding missing parts, in the 52 sets owned by myself/my daughter not a single one has ever had a piece missing iirc.

I would suspect the actual percentage of sets to be missing pieces would be much less than 1% and I bet a number of those reported include those where people have have lost things themselves or mistakenly thought pieces were missing.

Looking at some of the new sets, I don't get why Lego have started displaying them all with the minifigs on stands like this...

It looks ****. Are they going to be coming like that with those pieces?

£50 for this..

I will get it when it's £25!

Troop transport, another terrible force awakened model :( Even the battle packs the resistance fighters are meh. They don't look Star Wars at all.

New homing spider, wait what? Only 5 mins since the last one...

Another escape pod, but at least it's cheap jawas!

And this one:

What era is that? The stormtroopers don't have the markings the same as the ones from Rebels and I have never seen a red stormtrooper

Agree some sets are overpriced. The Sith infiltrator and that Resistance Troop Transporter are overpriced. I do like them both though.

I see the MTT is retiring soon, may have to pick one up.

Took a trip to Smyths on the way home from work as the site said they had it in stock;

Dunno if this helps anyone but I recently built a WALL-E set I purchased very recently and it came with the revised head/neck design, I was worried I had to request some parts for it so good to see I don't have to!

It's been years, decades even since I built a Lego set and I can honestly say I really enjoyed it, so much so that I went ahead and bought some more sets like the Tumbler and VW van to name a few. Things escalated quickly eh :D

The only thing I'm gutted about is I really want the Red 5 X-Wing and it doesn't look like I can get it anywhere. I know it's been on sale for ages and I guess that's the price I pay for joining in this late! But still, want :(

Whereabouts you based? The last time I went to the Lego Store a few days ago in the Metrocentre had a few still.

I'm down near London mate, so the Metrocentre would be a bit of a trek ha! Although to be fair I didn't check the Lego stores here, I just assumed it's probably all gone by now :(

Why 2 bud? One to build one to collect?

Yeah, the box on the left has suffered some water damage by the looks of it, so I've already opened that one up and will build and display it next year. Doubt it will ever skyrocket in price any time soon, but I imagine it should at least hold its value if I ever decide to sell it.

Just finished building my first Starwars figure - LEGO First Order Stormtrooper - 75114

My lovely girlfriend got me one for Christmas , I wasnt going to collect these but they have some pretty cool details on them , mainly on the face and also the gun has a built in spring inside it so you can fire the red plastic laser :)

Here our a few photos I did this morning using my new flash light.

I grabbed one of those Stormtroopers the other day too, pretty cool and good value for £15.

There's only a few others that I like though, all the ones that have human heads look really odd, and a lot are really expensive.
