just bought a 2tb samsung ssd , atm I have a 250gb Samsung, which has the OS and games on it and a 500gb crucial which just has games. they're both nearly full which is why I bought a new drive.

I'm going to put all the stuff onto the 2tb but what I need to know is will it be a straight copy or do I need anything else for the OS to copy properly?

thanks in advance (Y).

just cloned the drive and now its on my 2tb ssd but the part that is cloned is roughly 250gb and the rest isn't allocated. I tried to extend the volume but it didn't work.

got a message saying " there isn't enough space available to complete this operation "

and when I change the boot order to boot from the 2tb a black screen comes up saying restart computer and insert boot media , or something similar.

what do I need to do to fix this?

Missing System Reserved partition, most likely. It's easy to clone a single partition, instead of the entire drive.

You can resize partitions during the cloning process.
