Why oh why is he not playing Martial in the centre forward position. It looks like he would score loads up front if given the chance.
 
This is what we have been lacking lately, that little bit of luck to convert our **** performances to a win. Not really deserved but 3 points. Basically we are back to our early season form.

It's not hard to work out, is it? OK we may have paid a lot for him but he's not really suited to the slow scrappy style we are playing... that doesn't suddenly make him crap.

Fellani is genuinely crap. Valencia is crap, thankfully we don't see much of him these days.

Firmino looked far better playing as a false 9 than he has playing off Benteke but yea, he's not been great. That's not really the point though. If we had somebody up top that can run then maybe we can start building a side behind. At the moment it's just a mishmash and we look completely disjointed, hoping something breaks for us rather than it looking like we'll create it for ourselves.

That's the problem we've got. We don't look like scoring aside from Benteke who it looks like is the biggest issue to our performances.
 
average performance but a win. Sadly that probably keeps lvg around until the end of the season. Martial saved us again. Rooney was utter crap despite one flashy finish. Young did well, subs were poor and LvG generally mucking around with the formation in the second half nearly cost us everything.

Mata hasn't justified his cost in quite some time, he has been completely invisible for the most part this season



3 points are what mattered most (and therefore hopefully a lift in confidence also) but 1/2 the squad are way too average, not to mention probably the best player today (Young) is probably out for a few weeks by the looks of things

And virtually every game this season you could argue we've been the better team for at least a half. The problem is, no matter how much better we are, it's rare we capitalise.
