This is why "Venice unleashed" looks exciting..
I agree it is an interesting project. Remember seeing it a few years back when it started. Impressive they have got to the stage of an actual beta which looks fairly solid.
Was thinking about setting up a server but the server files get swallowed by my anti-virus currently, looks like a false positive rather then something malicious, hopefully they can sort that out in the near future.
I've only just started playing BF4 and I really miss many of the maps from BF3. Rush doesn't play particularly well in BF4 as the MCOMs are too difficult defend with the maps being in general so open you can't cover every approach.

It won't become popular in the sense that it will become mainstream and attract a massive player base.
I commend the work that a handful of people behind this project have achieved but by the time all the bugs have been ironed out BF5 will be out and people will have moved on.
Similar to any popular game mod it will only attract die hard fans, people looking for a trip down nostalgia lane or if BF5 turns out to be garbage then people looking for their fps fix.
I think from a legal pov EA have let them use it with BF3 since it is no longer supported but it would have been great if they could use the Frostbite editor on newer games like Battlefront or Hardline where it would have a greater impact.
I will still continue to follow their progress but after you unravel the initial no blue tint, no glare, no suppression, no fog, higher tick rate then this causes other balance issues which aren't an overnight fix. Additionally as it becomes more advertised then you will see an increase in hackers (as I already saw today) and since there is no pb service this can easily kill a game if it is not kept on top of.

Just downloading it is challenging me! Chrome says it's malicious, kills it. AVG says the same, kills it. After I work around those two, Win 10 says it's not compatible! Grrr..

They certainly were tenacious, made us work for it, but experience won through in the end
Just got back into this after not playing for over a year! I've forgotten how good it is, they also seem to have made massive improvements since i last played as well.
I'm sure it is even more optimized as well, runs flawlessly at 4k with everything on ultra (with AA disabled).
I have a question though, I bought premium when the game came out, and have downloaded all the expansion packs that I own, however it keeps telling me I need the "community map pack" and a few others that I think I ought to own but cant seem to find as a download anywhere?
