***The Official OcUK Lego Thread***

On to bag 8 of the Tumbler and although it is starting to look great I am amazed at how fragile it is now starting to get... If you are thinking of building it, keep the instruction books handy as you are going to be knocking bits off when you move it.

It is now getting tricky pushing some of the panels into place without disturbing other parts.

The hardest bits to put on are the 2 front wings, mostly because you have to line up like 5 bits, the bits at the top just slots in. The 2 panels at the top of the car just sits there. I found the wheels actually quite annoying.

You are almost done now, bag 11 is the display stand.

Lego retire hundreds of sets a year. You can probably count on one hand the ones that have significantly increased in value.

A few sets going through the roof (I'm looking at you, UCS Falcon) has fooled people into thinking Lego is a good investment, when in reality 99% of sets aren't, and there's no sure fire way to know the 1% that are.

As I see it the value of some retired sets goes up .... Until the replacement is launched. Much like the Death Star - replacement coming next year.
I'm sure Lego will do another Ultimate Falcon which will no doubt affect the value of set 10179.

Just bought the Villa Savoye set on Bricklink.

Now....when I pay via Paypal. Is there anything I should beware of?

I normally wait for the seller to send an invoice first because some of the sellers charge 4% PayPal fees and then also you know what they charge you for the postage too

Agreed, it was doing my nut in when putting the front wings on, bits were falling off the other side and the bottom, I was loosing my mind and struggled to find where they came from!

Mines nearly done, can't wait to see it finished,

When I've got some spare money think I'm going to get a display case for the Tumbler, want to make some wheels chocks to stop it rolling though, anyone know a good place to buy individual bricks from?

No you should be fine.

Check the sellers splash page for their charges. And get ready for the tombola of randomly generated postage charges...

Those front wings are a little frustrating, didn't help that i had a peg in the wrong place :o
The rear wheels annoyed the hell out of me. Think i did them three times to get the gap the same on both sets.

So glad I'm no where near a Lego store!!! :D

Currently waiting for General Grievous to come back into stock, so I can spend my VIP points and Gift card I got for my Birthday!!!

My GF has decided we should have "Mr 4 light sabres" but we haven't found it in stock anywhere. Weve gone into every toy shop, department store and Argos we have gone past :p
