**** Sony Xperia Z3 ****

The concept doesn't affect your DRM keys, camera quality etc even If your not officially a tester from what I understand and read in the Z3 thread on XDA.

As it doesn't require unlocking the BL.

Hmm, am I doing something wrong then? I found the Sony Concept version of MM and was then directed to download Flashtool, which I did. But when I connect the phone and run the flashtool it complains that the BL is locked.

Yeah dont use the flash tool, download the concept installer from the G+ page and it will all go fine.

Installing concept software

Please take a few minutes to read this guide as some steps contain important information!

The concept software will initially have to be installed from a PC or a Mac. Later updates to the software will be sent to your Xperia phone "over the air" a few times per month. The tool used to change the software on your phone is Concept Installer.
Note: All your data will be lost when you use the Concept installer on your phone, so make sure to back up all data before installing the concept software. It is possible to migrate data to the concept software. For more information about backup, restoring and migration of data on concept software, read the post linked at the bottom of this post.

Concept Installer can flash (install) the concept software to approved Xperia devices. To flash your phone, follow the steps below.

1. Download and install Concept Installer on your PC/Mac from the link provided below.

PC executable:
https://www-support-downloads.sonym...cept Installer/Concept_Installer_Web_prod.exe
Mac:
https://www-support-downloads.sonym...cept Installer/Concept_Installer_Web_prod.dmg

2. Start Concept Installer. This might take some time.
3. Select the Install Concept Software tab
4. Make sure your phone is powered on
5. Connect your phone and wait for a while.
6. Press Install software. Please be patient, this will take time.
7. Enjoy your new software!

If you face any problems when flashing your phone, please create a post in the category Support - Concept Installer. To be able to look at your specific problem we need you to send an error report by clicking the “Report Issue” in the bottom left corner in the Concept Installer.

Note:
• Xperia phone with unlocked boot loaders are not supported and cannot be flashed.

• All your data will be lost when installing the concept software so make sure to back up all data before you do that.

• To revert back to SONY official follow this instructions https://plus.google.com/+ZingoAndersen/posts/HzKKy3S4Dsy

Since the last update (standard ota) whenever I get a voicemail I get a notification sound every few minutes. It's quite annoying as I really dislike listening to voicemail so end up sticking my phone on silent until I do. :p

Is this normal and is there a way to stop this?

Phone just updated but sadly still not to Marshmallow. Why do Sony always appear to be last to get their updates out?

Because they always appear to be the ones with the least buggy updates? :p Lollipop came 2 months after it officially came out, expect similar here I guess. Late Jan/Feb.

True but I want marshmallow now dammit :p seems it was the 5.1.1 update that was announced back in the summer. Their updates take as long to come out as AMD's drivers do ha.

Looks like Z6 may have 3D Touch, come in 5 flavours, it will also have SD820 but the Z6 Mini appears to be using the SD620.

Looks like 2016 will be a Z6 for me (5.2" model) if these are true.

I've noticed the last 4-8 weeks that the battery life has decreased enough to be noticeable per charge. I'm guessing the battery health has decreased over the charge cycles since I got it.

I've checked eBay and original batteries go for £11 and back covers go for even less. I'm going to buy a pair and swap the battery out myself and fit the new cover as removing the existing one will remove any water resistance as the glue will be compromised.

This will give the Z3 some fresh new life until the SD820 handsets hit the market in Q2/Q3

Since this thread is slightly alive again... Can anyone give me a link to a windscreen mount that uses the magnetic connector for charging? I used my phone as satnav quite a bit and balancing it in the dash is a pain!

I just use the sony one (non magnetic connector) and when I need to charge I connect it directly - works well. I use the phone for all my audio in car and nav when I need it

I'm not sure i'd trust an 'official' ebay battery for £11 - got one for my wifes note 3 - which looked as official as they come and with battery life pretty much the same as the 2 year old one it was replacing ie appalling.
