Nothing wrong with 1st line support. I started off on a helpdesk as 1st line. Moved to another company after 6 months as 2nd line support and stayed there for about 2 and a half years. Left after they took the P salary wise. Went self employed for a year, earned a load of money same company offered me a perm position and increased my previous salary by about 40%.

It was relatively easy. Hard work (a given) and create good relationships with co-workers (boss in particular). Few more years under my belt and if everything goes to plan I should be in a very good position.
I went into first line at 19 with no previous experience in IT support apart from a little bit of friends and family help on the side. I just got a promotion after 6 months. You'll be fine.
And you'll be on more pay than me cos of the age difference too! (I'm 20 now)
