*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

They both have a lot of unnecessary garbage at hand. I've had both and feel the xbox is the worst in terms of information overload. I would be happy with a blank canvas then you can add whatever shortcuts you want on (I know xbox introduced this pin system but on initial sign in you still had a load of rubbish flooding the screen). I only have 3 games atm so the PS4 is a breeze to navigate :D

Never used/owned the PS3 tbh so cannot comment on it.

Quite a lot, Im an enthusiast.

You are a menu enthusiast? I have both consoles and I really like the new X1 UI. Massive improvement in every way aside from the lack of kinect gestures. The PS4 UI has been great since day 1. Everything I need is fairly accessable in a speedy fashion. I just want both interfaces to work efficiantly and they both do that. Choosing a console based on UI is a little odd. Usually its based on what friends have, power, cost, games, bc, control pad etc....UI Nah

Yeah I wish I could pin my most frequently used apps and such like to the beginning of the UI for quick access, such as Amazon Prime and Netflix.

If you don't use an app for a while too it seems to totally disappear from the main list and you have to search for it?

But that's how it works? Your frequently used games and apps are on the left of the bar and the unused ones get pushed to the right eventually dropping off into the library container. So you go in there if you want something you've not used for a while.

But that isn't how it works, it just places the last used app on the left pushing everything else to the right, frequency of use is ignored.

There is space for 15 items. Surely you don't flip about and play more than that at any one time?

^^ This.

Its not frequency at all. Its just the last things you opened come nearer to the front, whether you use it once a day, once a week or once in a blue moon.

:D

I actually would if it wasn't for the poorer graphics and huge size of the console.

Graphical difference is not massive, potentially it could be but nothing that has hampered my enjoyment of the X1. Console size I would maybe agree, plus the power brick is a pain.

I do like the PS4 design, looks pretty cool and no brick.

Seen F1 2015 for £17, I know at the start it was a mess, but how is it now? I'd assume most bugs etc have been fixed but the only reviews I can find is when it was terrible.

I got F1 in the sale and it's better than it was. Once you get racing it's pretty good apart from the screen tear when raining.

I would say it's worth £17 if you like F1 games.

Thanks for your constructive input.

To moogleys, thank you.

Yeah moogleys is right, its OK. Screen tear is pretty bad in certain areas but overall its a decent ish crack at an f1 game. It's got no career mode, but you can play the entire 2015 season and for most that is enough..

Replay's are solid 30fps though , so if you like to race and then watch the replays they are fine, full pit crew. It ticks a lot of boxes. But online last time I tired was pretty dire sadly..

Didn't realise they had an external power brick too.

Does make me appreciate the PS4 all the more then considering its tiny size, especially in comparison to the X1.

Meh, maybe I will stick with it after all :D

The most annoying thing I find with the PS4 UI is the games library bit, I find it a right mess with all the PS+ games I've downloaded and afaik there's no way to filter out the games that aren't downloaded.

Would make it so much easier for me when I want to dive into the backlog
