Your crap brand lager of choice

I'm stunned at the lagers mentioned. Heineken, Grolsch, Becks, Bud, Coors, Kronenbourg... these are great brands and very drinkable drinks.

Anyway, if I'm drinking someone else's beer at a BBQ it's because I've drunk the crate I brought, so by then it really doesn't matter. If for any reason I haven't brought my own I'll drink anything except Carlsberg and Stella.

I'm stunned you think they're great brands.

This situation just doesn't arise, once you pass the early 20s age bracket.
There's always good beer, cider, whiskeys and other spirits to be had.

Preferred choice for me is Stella, Bud or Coors Light, with Corona being after those 3.

I would rather not have a drink if the choices were only Fosters, Carlsbery or Carling.

I would drink all of those brand beers no problem, i would actually prefer Aldi Galahad beer to be honest. £5 for 12!

If i had my choice tho i would opt for a nice IPA

If he didn't have any cider he wouldn't be a friend of mine.

Can't drink lager anymore, much to gassy. Much prefer a flat scrumpy.

This.

Or a nice Thatchers Katy

If I really had no choice, and was going to be the next thing on the BBQ if I didn't have a cheap nasty lager, it would probably be Grolsch followed by San Miguel, followed by Budweiser, followed by "bring on the grill"

So you're round a mates BBQ or house party and he's stocked up on all the usual suspects of brand lager. Your hand is forced. Which brand would you go for?
As far as all my mates go, there will NEVER be such things at their events, unless *I'm* the one who brought it in the first place... because they're all Real Ale snobs, heh heh!!

I might find some Castle or Windhoek, but they generally insist on ales and ciders and Doom Bars and Hobgoblins and Bishop's Willy , or somesuch... I generally prefer spirits, so beers are chosen by whatever packaging I think the host will like! :D

Got to be a bit of Snecklifter going on at any BBQ at my place. Love the stuff. Hobgoblin is nice too, Pedigree and Spitfire are fine but none of that Hoegaarden white ale nonsense.

Forgot to mention Budweiser - repulsive stuff.

Recently, the only time I've drank Lager is when I've been to Poland. So it would have to be Lech, Tyskie or Zywiec. :p :o

How can it be argued? You may not personally like the product (though if you don't like any of them I'd content that it's snobbery :p) but the brand itself is unquestionable...

Personally, I'm not too fussy, but if I'm feeling really nasty, I'll pop into Aldis and pick up some St Etienne. Judging by the design on the can, its supposed to be a Stella rip-off :D

Heineken, grolsch and becks (bottled) are fantastic. Pretty much what Gilly said also. It just seems you don't like larger; no reason to be stunned that others (most) do.

When I was just reaching the kind of age where my parents would let me drink their beer they only ever had supermarket own brands so I'll drink whatever the host provides. Except special brew. That stuff is just vile and good for nothing more than cleaning drains.

My current 'cooking beer' of choice is Becks Vier, historically I've tended towards Carlsberg but our local Sainsburys never seems to have it in large packs. I'll have a Moretti if I'm being posh though :p

If you go to a BBQ and the host is providing special brew, then its going to be a night to remember. (well... I guess you wont technically remember it but still...)

I'm awkward with drinks lot of the time so always bring my own to avoid awful situation of having my hand forced. I promise I'm not as much of a **** in real life as I sound with that statement :p
