With my new job i no longer have to catch the central line. It is amazing how much a relative small change can increase well being. In summer especially it is going to be a lot better not having to get on to over heated and crowded central line. I had been catching the centra line for about 7 years previous.

my very long term relationship ended 3 months back so im readjusting , iwas brave enough to sell up in west yorkshire and follow my small dream of moving to cornwall ,feel my life is a little surreal at the moment as i chase the best surf 3 days a week soon to be 4 with my new shift ,its what i always dreamt of , but ive a long way to go to be totally content

You're in London. That's actually a bonus, despite how competitive it is.

What are you looking to get into?

What are you doing to build your CV in the interim?

At the moment any IT job, preferably 1st Line Support/IT Technician to get me started then eventually look towards management.

I've been looking at doing Windows Certifications but not entirely sure where to start.

Get yourself a CompTIA A+ certification. You can get it done in a month if you get your head down. Use this.

Get on cwjobs and sign up with IT and graduate agencies for the IT sector.

If you have the motivation, look at doing an ITIL thingy.

If you're unsure, start a new thread and ask. Don't sit around thinking it will come to you! :)

Have you considered looking at IT apprenticeships or similar?

Have a look at these and see if there's anything you can do for a little while. It doesn't matter if you don't love it; this is about building up your CV. :)

Content. Work wise, things are an awful lot better than they were this time last year. Laid off for a few weeks due to lack of work, busy now to the point of a fair bit of overtime coming up soon. Currently single, but happy enough with this at present.

I kinda feel like i'm in a bit of limbo at the moment, I know exactly what i want to do with my life and what i need to do to achieve it, but its a bad time to make the push to change, i'm desperately trying to hold off for 6 months so everything lines up right, but now that i know i want to change profession, its getting more and more difficult by the day to keep the motivation and drive for my current job, I feel like an empty body at work, my heads already out of there.
But otherwise i'm happy with life, pay good, more hobbies than i can afford, i'm sure life would be better with a long term partner, but at present I dont think my head is that place at the moment (read, i'm a selfish **** who dosnt have time for anyone but me), at least thats what it feels like.

Things could be better for me personally.

Just moved into a new department in my place IT!! which I have been working towards for a while now, and the directors acknowledged that, and am really over the moon with it.

Even though people see me as a confident, happy person. How I feel it the opposite completely.

If I can shake to low confidence, and feeling unwanted by friends/family, then I would be much better off really.

Life giveth, life taketh away. After a bonus redundancy payment 4 month after I left I was chuffed... then my car broke it's CV joint and suspension spring which took he wind out of my sails a bit....

Bloody good job I had that money come in unexpectedly literally 4 days before as I was broke without it!

Need something like that to happen again please... lol

I voted "meh just getting by".

Some aspects of my life are great, I'm doing a university course which I both enjoy and I am doing well on, I own a house/car etc and have a super wife.

However, I find the course much more work than doing a "regular job" (i.e. harder and more hours), with 90-120 minutes of travelling each day on top. Additionally, whilst not skint, due to money restrictions from not working my play/social time is much less fun than when I was working.

Thank you!

I've looked at quite a few IT apprenticeships most of them only paying £150 max a week though.
