What have you done to your car today?

Oh no of course I know that, but I was more on about the 10PSI difference between front and back!

Mine is 34psi/26psi. Probably because of the hefty lump of pig iron in the front and 45 profile tyres on Fox's favourite "city car".

Because with most cars there is a significant weight difference front to back.

Cars with near perfect weight distribution are not as common as you'd think.

My tyres are supposed to be 32 PSI front, and 32 PSI back. Just saying... :D

32 all around :o

Good man with your non-weird car!

I'm sure Fox knows that having a 10PSI difference between front and back is fairly unusual, but he's just up to his usual antics. What a kidder, eh... :p

Collected the Octavia yesterday - pleased with it so far (bit worried if I wasn't after a day I guess) and Skoda themselves were fantastic to deal with, doing a lot for me considering it was only a c£6k car.

Turns out it already had a revised tensioner fitted late 2011 whilst it was in for a cam balancer recall, which is reassuring.

Seats are great, general ride is great, refinement really noticeably improved over the FN2 though it doesn't make any noticeable noise but can't have it all I guess.

Originally I was dead set on a remap then leave it alone but I'm also now considering swapping out the rear ARB as it's a bit on the wallowy side for me when pushed. Also need to get some sort of mutt restraint ordered for it too - thinking about a cage to take up half of the boot which should leave me enough room to put the pram in beside it.

I'm assuming you have never driven on the A1 at that time then? And also because its an offence to drive with a light out. And because i've always been taught to carry spares from travelling around europe, and it takes 2 minutes to do.

Not sure if you've noticed but not everyone drives an RWD car with a staggered tyre setup ;)

Never the less all my cars have pretty even Tyre pressures with a slight inclination to the front. Two of them are FWD and one AWD.

Must be some new modern understeer safety thing!

So you think you'd be thrown in the slammer for driving for 5 minutes without one headlight?

I know what you're saying in principal (and I know you actually stopped at a checkpoint), but I'm sure nobody would be chasing you down the road for a bulb. Plus I'd rather live, personally than grind to a halt on a busy road because a bulb blew.

Just like a base Mazda3. Except actually a base Mazda3 is worse because the interior of the 3 is hopelessly dire irrespective of trim level, at least the Golf is a bit better put together.

PJS much? :p

Turns out it was a POLO not a GOLF. I didn't pay much attention... it seems

People always mistake me for my cheaper, worse built younger brother as well :D

To be fair, the dealer said "that red golf over there".
No badges on the back. And i didn't pay much attention to it for the 4 miles i used it for. Prob why the golf i sat in last year was different...
