Bought a Asus Matrix ROG 980TI..disappointed

This is a very hard topic to advise on as noise is subjective and what someone calls quiet others call loud or not acceptable. For me I'm very particular about noise levels, every fan in my build is on a controller including my water pump even the noise from my HDD gets on my nerves at times.

I would just setup a custom fan profile in Afterburner. If you comfortable with having he card run a bit hotter play around with the fan speed manually and set the maximum level you find acceptable when under load then create a profile. test it out in 3DMark or Haven to make sure it doesn't get to hot.

That's got to better then going through the hassle of RMAing your card and choosing a new one.

BTW if it's loud underload but some half decent cans, you will get a better experience all round.

That is very very true. What I myself would have considered quiet a year or so ago, I now would think is terrible!

I'm becoming a quite case obsessive/ noise nazi now. It's addictive. Got a new EK Vardar and noctua fan to try out on my AIO radiator today.

That PC looks great wunkley, however if built for quietness and with that setup, I'm not sure there's a need for 3 intake fans over 2 lower ones? Or does it just light up? :D

Its also relative I've had an R9 290 and its nothing like as noisy as that chart would have you believe. It doesn't mention branding and I bet they're reference cards.

I have a AIO currently though and its the quietest gaming I've had for a very long time. I think I'm going to go with them exclusively in future.

Mine sure isn't. :)

KFA2 Infin8 Black Edition.

KFA2 980ti All of them are biggest fail. For overclocking they are superb but for regular usage in normal environment to loud. I even had to rma hall of fame WC edition because coil whine was something crazy. Same thing with evga hybrid gaming - rubbish.
