Spec me some Shure SE425 earphones please

Yeah, that was my prime concern too, but I'm happy to report that despite abusing them in the usual daily ways they've been faultless so far.

Hell, I even snagged them on a train door handle on their first day of use, pulling them out of my ears and my DAP as I walked away. So yeah, I'm convinced - they're robust :)

e: I've just re-read your OP; slightly regret making a hearing loss joke now  But yes, if it's detail you're after, the Dunus will not disappoint.

:D
However true.

I had virtually no hearing in my right ear but on Tuesday I went to see the Consultant who showed me my graphs and my right ear is now better than my left so I want some decent earphones.

I was looking at them two weeks ago and not at that price but I bet they work a treat. There's also a cheaper version you make yourself.

So true but in relation to the ridiculous cost of high end IEMs it's a small price to pay.

Sorry I didn't catch that but did you find a similar service cheaper than the snugs link I posted. Would be interested instead of a ghetto homebrew solution :D

I was watching a video on You tube about fitting headphones and it featured Snugs and then this cheaper version where it's basically plasticine that hardens up. I'll see if I can find it.

I was thinking about full shell Snugs for my Fidue A73s but then they fit me so well and sound so good I can't really justify spending more than they cost me in the first place for a re-shell.

The sound quality of the Dunu DN2000J will be marginally better as the highs are not quite as lively as the Fidue A83s BUT the Fidues will be a lot more comfortable due to their housing shape and have removable cables - you know your priorities, your choice. ;)

I have their little brother, the Fidue A73, which is a 2 driver IEM (1 dynamic and 1 balanced armature) and absolutely love them.

I would like a removable cable just in case and the cable of the A83 looks awesome.
Also at my age the trebles would be dampened anyway.

Looks like I've got my answer.

Some people have loved the sound quality of the Dunu but the heavy, barrel shaped housing has proven to be uncomfortable, whereas the A83 (and A73) are a far more comfortable fit - I was using my A73s for about 5 hours last night without discomfort.

Same here with respect to the high frequencies, my 58yr old ears act as a good sibilance filter :D

Oh my word - awesome.
I'm really impressed with the build quality and looks.
I put the Comply tips on and even though I've read they don't fit some people they fit me perfect even to the point of me head banging to some metal tracks.
I tried quite a few tracks that my Ultimate Ears weren't 100% with but these are in a different class.
Listening to the Brian Setzer Orchestra I though I was in the same room.
I'm seriously impressed so thanks everybody.
