I have a Focus ST which is group 16 insurance and only worth 5k. My insurance is due start of March and i have been doing quotes on all the compare sites for the last few weeks.
I am late 20's and have a clean license with 6yrs no claims. Now the cheapest quote i have had with a £500 excess is £800

And that's before i throw legal protection and breakdown on! Its ridiculous!
I try to get insurance with decent companies such as Churchill, LV or Elephant etc as i have heard too many horror stories of lesser companies being an absolute nightmare which i cannot be bothered with. And i always change my car every 12 months so its always mid way through a policy which i prefer to be dealt with in an easy manner and have no extortionate fee's for changes.
Now the main thing i was going to do was get my car modded soon. Seems like vast amount of drivers remap there Turbo cars these days and when i tried that for a quote its a 25% increase
How the hell does anyone Mod there car without getting bent over big time by insurance companies
So does anyone have any experience/know any insurers that are reasonable for my type of car and dont have a meltdown when you mention modifying?
thanks
