I'd almost say that it's more embarrassing teaching a grown adult how not to waste money on crap (aka, common sense) than it is swiping a food voucher at a self checkout.

If she was anorexic she'd have been sectioned because it is a mental illness that makes her a danger to her aelf.

She hasnt been sectioned so doctors clearly dont think shes mentally ill
 
I agree these people are probably miserable

But now you have the situation that you have provided for them a miserable life, early death and nothing in between
No incentive/force/motivation to change

Personally if I was in that position is genuinely rather be dead

Don't really know what the solution is, but it really is a pointless miserable existence

This is going to be controversial, but why keep someone in this pointless existence
I also don't get how all these super compassionate people can believe thier "free resources for everyone" can work.
It's the same as the Syrian thing, you can't save everybody

I don't think a "essentials" debit card would work.. Got to be better than free cash. This obviously doesn't fix people
Thats my main gripe with this. The method we have doesn't fix the people we are trying to fix

I had the same programme on in the background and it did what it set out to achieve: shock and enrage me :p However, that woman was without a doubt a horrible piece if work. She spoke to her husband/carer like crap, everything was someone else's fault and she claimed to have every thing from ADHD & OCD to CJD or whatever. The programme was just geared to rub it in our faces and it worked having someone like her as the show. "oh I've got these cats that I have to feed so I need money for that, oh and this new game is out for xbox so I'll be buying that... Husband, go to the shops and buy me these things at once!!".

One thing is for sure, that guys a chump. The gf and I were both yelling at the TV - ditch that *****.

The gf had it on, I was sat on my laptop playing nostalgic games, but the programme drew my attention by fuelling my rage and confirming my own bias :p like I said, the programme achieved what it set out to do. Needless to say, it has no benefit to the problem and only helps to exacerbate it. Only the ignorant will assume all people on benefits are like her though.

I seriously don't know how people like that have relationships. My manhood would not perform.

(by the fat I mean the literally fat.. I'm not grouping people into fat and not.. I know what you guys are like :-D)

If you don't believe the media twist things to get a reaction then you're the opposite side of the tinfoil hats.

But equally as bad.

"if it bleeds it leads" kind of thing, they want crapp like this to sensationalize and get views on their shoddy programmes that offer literally zero value. It's McDonalds for the mind.
