Pricey but a great setup for the money!
What are people's take on electrolyte tabs here for water?
I am quite a sweaty rider, and currently on the turbo on the morning a work up a good sweat. I don't need the carbs as I'm getting breakfast straight after. But I sometimes feel that my salt levels are a bit low. Anyone got any suggestions?
I melt also, even when taking it easy commuting I'll have worked up quite a sweat... Always have. I used to suffer quite a bit with cramping up and started using tabs quite early to combat it, I also dislike the taste of plain water so have tabs in every drink when riding now.
I prefer the taste of the Wiggle orange ones they leave a weird brown oil/film on the bottle
Wiggle tabs are ok, but found them stain my bottles the same. Etixx stuff is even worse for it! For the price you can get the High5/SiS (BOGOFF even at Evans' sometimes) then there's little excuse for using the cheap Wiggle ones. Ask Wiggle for some trials when you're next ordering anything, think they sent me 5-6 various tabs. I found the Etixx & Sis ones didn't agree with me but the High5 and Wiggle do.
The plan is to be blown up climbs like a butterfly instead of having to actually pedal.
The wind direction will help you decide on the races you enter rather than the elevation profile?
Good leg stretch last night after work with my mate, same route as week
before last, 0.4mph avg faster with some brutal headwinds so very happy with that. I pulled
hard West on the front for the first 8 miles into it, as we turned south we realised the wind was much stronger (south-westerly) which made the fast/steep descent quite hairy! An easier 6-7 easterly
drag back into town on my mates wheel, but he was struggling a little so I
pulled on the front again on a short stretch of road I commute on before peeling off and
hammering it home (had a good drag off a Clio!) before I hit some traffic. Great ride and really chuffed with my power levels (around 190W for a total of around 9 miles) considering I didn't really push that hard or empty the tank, just trying to make up for my lazy weekend!
First really wet commute this morning in my
Sidi Hydro boots, light rain/heavy drizzle with very wet roads (spray). Impressed with them as I had warm dry feet, although the tops did make my socks moist! I will wear them with overshoes in proper wet weather, although I may find them too warm in temperatures much warmer. I ditched my ASV windslam and went for jacket, glad I did as the ASV would've been too warm! 5-6 degrees with a little windchill, Garmin reported 4 degrees!
