Hi!
Short post: Has anyone been using these cac-1070 or cac-1170 DP to HDMI 2.0 adapters for 4k60? I've used active adapters in the past and found them quite flakey, so I'm looking for positive feedback on these (and possibly a hint at where/when they will be available).
My life story, for anyone that cares to follow: I used to have a 295x-2 + 290 tri-fire, and I had a single 290 in my "spare" PC. My main gaming PC is connected to an HDMI 2.0 TV, and I chased the promise of a DP -> HDMI 2.0 adapter for at least a year. Then when the 390 series released and still didn't provide an upgrade path to 4k60 HDMI, I gave up on AMD and bought a 980TI. Recently I decided the 980TI was a bit loud, so I removed the reference cooler and attempted to fit a Corsair HG10 980 with an Antec 1200 AIO. That was a disaster, and I broke the 980TI forever.
I sorted myself a bit of budget this month to replace the 980TI, but I'm reluctant to buy a high-end card so close to Polaris/Pascal. Somewhere along the way Club3D released this adapter and my old setup may be viable, so I have decided to use my 980TI budget to put my current hardware under water (or milk), and I'll get a new card(s) later this year. I've now ordered everything I need for the full custom milk loop, apart from the Club3D adapter. Hopefully I haven't made a terrible error, but going by my GPU history it seems likely it'll all go wrong :|
