We do seem to have a disproportionately high benefits bill in the UK. Nearly all countries spend a lot less than we do.

Are you trying to suggest that the jungle is aspirational in some way?

No...
I'm pointing out humans act in bad ways, in the same way all animals do.
Ah, a good old politics thread. Labour dish out the cash, the tories take it away. Swings and roundabouts for British politics then. Rage on one side and then the other....
Animals don't kill each other for sport or fun. Or put humans/pets in microwaves/ovens. Or throw acid over peoples faces.
Can you explain that a bit further please. Was the DWP straight out accusing you of faking it?
TBH I wish I could even to begin to understand what there thinking was on this, even the judge was unable to try and explain it she was just amazed at it when she read it in the DWP paperwork so much so she was laughing for about 5mins while the Dr was trying to ask questions.
Even the ATOS assessor had stated that I was unfit for work for at least the next 2 years with improvement in the long term impossible due to having a degenerative spinal condition.
The joys of the DWP I am just so glad that I do not have to deal with them over PiP or DLA as I am in receipt of a decent RAF Pension and a Veterans Agency War Pension.
Anyone who does have to deal with them has my condolences.
If you suddenly become ill or get an injury and cannot work then good luck because by god you are going to need it.

Regardless of what they say, IMO, this boils down to one thing.
The PIP reforms did not yield enough of a drop in disability payments as they thought would (most people are winning their appeals), and now with the tax credit u turn, the Tories need to find more money.
What better way to do it than to alter, and pretty much rig the points system to make even more disabled people ineligible for the top rate.
I can't believe I voted for this lot. I was never aware they would hammer the needy as much as they are doing. I suppose they need the extra money to help raise the 40% tax threshold.
they should feel lucky they are getting anything..
Good. People need to be assessed differently.
The new current craze is agrophobia, all the drug users I deal with dialy have persuaded the authorities into defeat for this condition. That's an extra £40 a week for drugs.
They sit there smoking, I ask how they buy their cigarettes - walked the shop mate...brilliant.
Yes, genuine cases need support but we cannot keep supporting this current system - it's a joke. Do not get me started on mobility cars...the current drug dealer is driving around in a nice VW touran mobility car. He trains in the same gym as me and injects a lot of steroids. It's a joke.
The tories look out for their handshaking rich school boy friends, That is all that matters to them and I am always baffled why educated English ordindary men and women vote for them.
School friend of mine who broke his back when a car crashed into his due to the driver being drunk got his disability money cut because apparently he's not disabled enough even though he can't walk, Has no feeling from his collar bone down but can move his arms yet the heroin addict who lives next door to him that's never worked a day in his life gets £300 a week for doing sweet F.A.
You do realise that you are also making the same sorts of value judgements that you accuse others of doing in the above statement?
Here we go again, getting started on the motability cars.
Is it so hard to understand, if you have major difficulty walking and getting around, you are paid £57 a week to help with mobility costs. You can use that money to get a car to help you get around. No extra costs are incurred upon the government than £57 a week which the disabled person gets anyway, car or not. Any excess costs are covered by the Motability organisation which runs as a charity with no government funding at all. If you're too stupid to realise these facts then I dont know what more I can say.

Benefit fraud accounts for 0.7% of the welfare bill. By all means it is despicable when people abuse the system but it is used by the government and the MSM to whip the public into a frenzy. Even simple things like language. They should be referred to as social security not benefits.
Ah yes. Don't become ill.
If we are no better than animals, pray tell me, which other animals in nature have governments that declare war on opposing factions?
Or plan for yourself and take responsibility perhaps?
In fairness the only claim was that we 'seemed' to have a high bill compared to other countries. Depending on where you get your news from (reading Metro/Evening Standard, believing ministers press briefings) this is an entirely reasonable conclusion to draw.
