We are about to have a 2nd child, currently we have a Ford Focus, but thinking we need something bigger, for two reasons:
I'm considering the following (Diesel models, either hatchback/saloon or Estate):
The Mazda is probably my preferred based on value for money vs spec.
Am I likely to get much more rear room with these? The Car Seats are Joie Stages - they rear face when up to about 3 years of age and then forward face after that. I know I could change car seats, but these are versatile and remain rear facing up to 18kg (so are safer then other forward facing seats).
Additionally on the above anything else people would avoid, I'm looking to spend around 15k so am looking at 1-4 years old.
- More stuff to carry around, so bigger boot.
- More legroom. Currently 1 car seat goes behind passenger seat, but front seat won't go all the way back when seat is in. With two kids one will be behind me as the driver - so I'm looking at something with more rear legroom to allow me to get the drivers seat far enough back. I'm 6' 2'' and on the Focus have the seat right back for a comfortable driving position
- Plus the Focus is 7 years old and an upgrade would be nice.

- Mondeo
- A4
- Passat
- Mazda 6
- 3 Series
