What's your thoughts on it?
Currently watching that new show "You're back in the room" with Phillip Schofield and the hypnotist Keith Barry and I'm not sure what to make of it tbh.
Has anyone been hypnotised before?
It's definitely a thing.
Derren Brown sometimes has to whittle 100's of people down to get somebody pliable enough to make the show go how he plans.
it isn't a 'thing', at least as far as stage hypnosis is concerned, it relies more on peer pressure and willingness to play along
Derren Brown is mostly a magician these days, he did practice stage hypnotism in his early days before he became famous and is quite critical of it in his book
And yet he still uses it, such was the case when he made a guy think he was in a zombie apocalypse.
How do you know he still uses it? He uses suggestion etc.. sure - but the idea of a hypnotic trance/hypnosis etc.. is complete bunk.
Because he got on a bus full of people and put him to sleep before the 'event' kicked off.
It was only on 2 years ago.
Just because you've seen something happening as part of a magic show doesn't make it real.
Will only believe it when someone successfully hypnotises me.
