Many thanks, so phoenix credits the best way to go?

I'd be inclined to save your phoenix credits for recalibrating high end, unless there's a recipe you can only get using phoenix creds at least. By the time you're Rank 50 in DZ you have plenty of DZ Creds to buy all the stuff (I'm just over half a mil at the minute) - Phoenix Creds are tougher to get hold of than DZCreds :D

The firearms, stamina and science stats not updating bug when you change gear is so flipping frustrating. Does anyone know why it does it?

It always seems to happen if you try and change it in an area where you can't use guns(ie safehouses) and then the bug sticks until relog.

I've taken to running outside before trying various things out and I haven't had it for a while.

Kinda **** especially when the vendors are all in no gun zones.

Doesn't seem to get bugged by the special weapons vendor in post office though.

I'm running the rig below guys but I'm getting CPU spikes up to 100% and it's causing some nasty lag. Is the old sandy bridge showing its age? Worth upgrading to an i7 for the extra threads or an ivy bridge? Can't see a GPU upgrading helping me. Running close to ram usage too, gets up to 7gb with windows. Virtually unplayable if Spotify or Firefox is open :(

Killed my first rogue. I was in the DZ solo but had tagged on with a three man team and we were clearing an intersection of AI. Guy comes up right behind me, I thought he was going to help but just starts shooting straight into me. Didn't take long to knock me over. Funny thing was I hadn't even picked up anything so had no yellow bag. The only thing he was going to get was a few DZ credits I guess.

Last thing I see before floating away was the three man team I had been helping chasing him and his mate. I respawn at the checkpoint and as I open the door, who should I see but the rogue hiding behind a truck right in front of me. I unloaded a clip into him plus some, he tried to run but I clobbered him and got his loot.

Lesson learned - don't hide with your back to the door where the guy you've just shot for no reason is going to come out of!

I had real trouble with extractions, got killed on every one that I tried so I figured it just wasn't my night and left. I think I'm going to need to team up eventually, roaming the map is OK solo but you need others to watch your back during the extractions, and to help with reviving.

Is it essential to have headphones and a mic for team play, or can I get away with being mute? (Technologically challenged here, don't have headphones with a mic).

Previous to going to the DZ, I had fun with the mission to save Paul Rhodes - first real exposure to Cleaners. I am still in wonder at the detail of the environments, find myself just wandering around and looking at the detail.

Cheers,

Spec Ops: The Line is a bit similar

I only got 13 hours into Spec Ops - too linear and too much the same for me. I know there was supposed to be some form of narrative there along the lines of Heart of Darkness but I couldn't put up with the repetitive linear nature of it. None of the RPG mechanics although the mental disintegration of the characters is interesting to watch (and I think that's the point of it).

Cheers,

A couple of the regulars are mutes. The guy I play with just uses chat and the other one I know of uses a soundboard for inspirational arnie quotes. Not a requirement but I'd imagine you'd have more fun joining in with the banter than just listening.

Certainly does help when calling locations, although I guess if a teammate starts mag dumping somewhere I'm not going to ignore it :D.

Just did my first Hard mission. Blow up some napalm factory. Recommended lvl 10, went in at Lvl 9. Had a bad time. Finished it, but took a fair few attempts.

Sticking to Normal.

I had the same during the beta, thought it was just poor optimization due to it being a beta. I ended up switching to a 5820k, 16gig ram and from a 680 to 980ti as well and the difference is very noticeable.

I even tried the 680 with the the 5820k and never went above 40-45% cpu usage so it was definitely the 2500k struggling with the game. It was bad as i stream it and it was hitting nigh on 100% just playing and i couldn't watch any youtube/twitch on my other monitor as it would get choppy due to 100% usage.

Streaming/Watching and Gaming now doesn't go over 60% so was well worth it to me.

This was what it was like on my 2500k anywhere between 90-100 with regular 100 spikes. I'd say go for an i7 if you can, don't need a full pc upgrade like i did but something that can use a bit more grunt as long as it works with your current board.

Here we go!

started getting random CTD's this evening, not sure why:( gpu isn't over heating so don't think it's that - rather bizarre as it's been running rock solid for best part of a week

THIS!

For a game based around stats, it really is game breaking, it seems to be much worse for me now than it was at the start of the game, even when not changing a single thing and just exiting and going back to my inventory screen, the stats have changed....

Sad thing is, hardly anyone seems to be reporting the issue and no mention by massive about fixing it :/

This is how my loadout looked when I left, no doubt when I go back on tomorrow, the stats will be completely different :o

Got that epic purple sniper rifle tonight, so glad I didn't buy any of the ones in the vendors :p Superb loadout this, sniper for medium to long distance and headshots all day and SMG to melt them up close. Got a nice ACWR + LMG but going to keep with the SMG I reckon.

Either way, fun tonight in the DZ6 with tony, twirly and tess, we didn't do bad at all :D Missions on challenge mode tomorrow night for me, want to get yellows now!!!!
