so i decided to install my 2 remaining 980ti's as i got a better cpu with more lanes 5930k

I realise that i have to take out my sound card my wifi card disconnect usb3 and usb2 cables, all the front panel cables i.e power switch hhd lights ect, remove the OC panel connector

phew, all that shiz just to install a 4th card, so i do it and then i install all 4 cards, 2 of them asus and 2 msi golden editions

I then realise that my 1300 WATT !! power supply does not have extra cables, its more than enough to power 4 way sli, my current 2 cards is connected with 2x 8 pin cables

the other spare cables i have is 1 8 pin and 1 6 pin, so im 2 pins down from making full connection, i then try to connect it with 1 6 pin and 1 8 pin, which i do.

but then my 4 way sli bridge does not work because the msi and asus cards are a different height, 2 inches to be precise

so a lack of power and a sli bridge not good, so i decide **** it, i'll just stick with 2 way

what a waste cpu that I bought unnecessarily

so I pull out card 4, i then pull out card 3, but its a bit stiff, I firmly hold it with my index fingers under the fan blades, i pull it out, but i hear a snapp clip noise

I realise that one of the fan blades has snapped off and now it does not spin

so fully re-place everything but 1 fan out of 3, the middle one is not spinning, the temps seem ok for now but is there a way to fix it my self? I see 4 small screws on the fan under the plastic housing...

what a lame scenario, all because i wanted to experience 4 way sli, im gonna sell of 2 and stick with 2 way now, i didnt know it will be such a mission...

Confess to the manufacturer what you've done and see if they'll fix it for a fee. If they won't, you could try disassembling it yourself to fix the fan/ replace the cooler.

so will they charge me? obviously its not a warranty claim, but looking at the card it looks like its a simple process, 4 screws takes the fan out and then replace it, its the cooler housing assembly im worried about.

i have a couple of flexible bridges, but they are for ati cards, will that work?

Just watercool the lot, ekwb do gold back plates as well, match them up with ek's gold cpu block and you'll be set.

So without the showboating, what you are asking is "can I replace the middle fan on my Asus/MSI 980TI because I broke it..?"

p-r-e-t-t-y sure if you can afford 4x980Ti's you can afford a few quid to get one fixed given the fairly light nature of the damage?

No?
