What have you done to your car today?

Is it a passive system or one with actual pressure sensors?

If its passive, it just uses the speed sensors to detect difference in rotational speed - you're supposed to reset them at a standstill after you top them up, change tyres etc but people often forget to do that, which triggers the warning.

It's a passive system, I'll go and top them up this evening and see what the pressures are.

Useful app that. Be interesting to see how it varies over time, though I almost consistently get 700+ per tank anyway.

changed an anti roll bar on the E39.
got one nut off easy then spent 45 minutes trying to get the other one off only to realize i was tightening it :) :)

Quick question.

ELM327 Bluetooth or wifi, which is more reliable?

If I have Bluetooth I'm assuming I can't use Bluetooth for music to head unit at same time?

Depends on the phone

If it's android then Bluetooth is simpler, you can use wifi but need to root the phone. Elm327 Bluetooth plus Torque just works and is awesome

For iOS you want a wifi one, some apps claim to work with Bluetooth ones but I've never been able to get them to work and I've never found anyone who has!

Cool, thanks, ordered a bluetooth one. Will have USB to the head unit anyway if I want music at the same time as having the adapter connected.

What was the cause last time?

Well there was oil coming up from the spark plug tube seals and coating the #1 coil pack, I changed the tube seals and the cam cover gasket while I was at it, which seemed to have solved that issue. Looks like it might be coming from somewhere else too though. Possibly rear main seal behind the flywheel. Will try and find it this weekend...

Car sounds and drives well though, pulls cleanly, sounds healthy etc.

replaced the front rotars on the E39.
first time i have ever done a job like that before, it was very satisfying not paying for the job to be done.

I think I will do my pads and discs next time too. Never really thought about DIYing those types of things due to not want to get my hands dirty :o

did mine too, well fronts.. rears were fine but even then I wouldn't be able to get the bolts out due to no space/leverage :o
