What have you done to your car today?

Changing discs and pads is a piece of **** even for a dumbass like me. Good jack and some basic tools and you can do all four corners in no time.

Yep, just make sure you use the correct tools for the job so you don't strip any bolts or hex heads and have to take the car to get the bolts removed anyway, like someone I know but who totally wasn't me :p

Presuming theres no problem to fix thats true enough, changing the fluid can be more fiddly

Changing the fluid and bleeding brakes is certainly more tedious.

Oil leaks dont tend to affect how well a car runs or sounds until its much, much too late

Oh I know, was just saying that the engine seems fine apart from slight oil seepage from somewhere, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

Now the Alloys and exhaust are sorted, I'm Looking for a small lip spoiler for the boot of the mx5 but don't want to spend a fortune (£130 for a genuine lip spoiler).

Now I've found this on eBay (famous last words)
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=201388298113&alt=web

Anybody got any experience with cheap tat like spoilers from eBay. I'm not looking for anywhere near perfection, just something to breakup the rather bland looking boot.

Cheers.

Well I mean, it will probably look naff, and isn't tailored for one specific car. (Hence compatibility from MK1 through to MK3)

The current owner of my old MX5 just offered it back to me. For £3.5k. Bit much. But I really want another one and I really rather miss mine :/

FI MX5s seem to hold value really well lately Howard.

Greenlight told me that £3000 is pretty much the minimum agreed valuation they put on them at the moment

Have they modified it anymore?

Guess the rust will be the sills

and if that's the case then it should be fairy easy to get it repaired, a lot of mx5 specialists do it already.

knock a bit of the price to cover the repair and see if he goes for it! I'd offer £3k because of the rust and see what happens.

seen some places doing repairs for 300-400

Highlighted an issue.

Did a couple of third gear pulls on a nice flat private road to comapre to a very early map using Virtual Dyno (Not going to accurate but it should give a reasonable indication of changes) and it seems to be falling flat on its face after 5500rpm compare to previous)

Took it into the dealers to look at a rattle when idle, turns out they think it's the timing chain tensioners, so it's booked in now for new tensioners, a new tensioner belt and new timing chain in 3 weeks.

Glad it has a manufacturer warranty!

Its leaking loads of oil now. Going to take it apart again and hopefully unclog the PCV breather system. Chap at Sector 111 USA (Lightweight sportscar specialist - they deal with Lotus' with the same engine) said this is probably on the right track as the pressure caused by this could force oil out of worn oil seals.

Will report back! :)

Had my wheels refurbed at Rimtec in Meopham, dropped the car off on Tuesday and was meant to pick it up today but had a phone car last night that it was ready. So only a 2 day turn around.

Ignoring all the dirt that I have managed to pickup on it since then here is a pic of one wheel.

Done a very good job, cant see a single fault with all 4. All that's left is to put my old m badges back on or buy some new ones if they wont clean up.
