And keep it in April, none of this March No!. It buggers up our annual leave due to having 2 Easters in the same tax year. Either keep Easter in April, or reset holidays on 1st Jan like my old workplace did.
 
LOL... Easter has its roots in Babylon... IE Iraq... Easter is closer to Islam than it is to Christianity... just because it was re-appropriated to Christianity, doesn't make it its source.
 
I used to get annoyed by people sharing the false stories about Christmas being renamed, but now the people who tell everyone that the stories are infact false are about twice as annoying. I haven't even seen the story about Easter Eggs being renamed, and I haven't seen anyone complaining about it. What I have seen are about 18 people reminding me on Facebook that it isn't the case, as if everyone has the mental capacity of a house fly and couldn't work that out on their own

Most scholars put Jesus' birth in April, rather than December.

The migration from Saturnalia/winter solstice to Christmas certainly appears to have been done to help the migration from one system to another.

I think perhaps there is an overwhelming number of self-righteous (and often left) turds that wish to try and display publicly their ability to think in a vain hope that they will receive validation through their like minded brethren. Whilst at the same time assuming that the majority of other folk are brain dead "sheeple" who cannot in fact think for themselves and must therefore all be really stupid far right evil people.

You should thank them for educating us ;) everyone would be lost without them.

No, GD allows me to see the thread headline and click into it before I read it, plus it can often make me laugh or offer a good story. FB just bombards me with incessant whining, attention seeking and people I'd half the time never normally speak to.

Granted though, this thread is pretty much a fb type post, but hey, I'm away from home and bored :)
 
I had a look at some Mars eggs we're giving away at work and the packaging for them doesn't contain the word 'Easter' at all.

My guess would be that the intention is to sell them at other times of the year.

This picture puts into context well how I feel about the stupidity of people on social media (In how well it takes the **** out of them). It's given a voice to the masses yes - let unfortunately it's also given a voice to people just intelligent enough to use Facebook.

I think it also shows stupidity that you don't realise we have 1000s members here who are Facebook compliant even though they say they don't use Facebook.
I really don't see any difference between GD and Facebook - in fact my Facebook is more intelligent on the whole.

This just in, using Facebook or GD is a measure of one's IQ. Who'd have thought it.

It's a bit stupid to not identify a difference between FB and GD is it not?
