Daily Star - Easter Eggs are banned

It really is sad that a young man doesn't know how to use Facebook.

The fact that an old man is so wrapped up on the matter is sad. FB seems to be a big factor in your life too and guess what.....?

There are many reasons for me not to be on fb. Easyrider is very right that you don't have full control. For example, factors pertaining to my job role leaves me wary of stuff being shared, photos being posted and other details included. That's stuff anyone can put on there, not me. By not being on there means I'm less likely to attract any of that. This is all along side the points I mention earlier. I really don't see the argument, particularly in reference to GD. It's all rather droll.

So yes, cest la vie etc, you use fb, others don't. You think GD is just as bad (yet you're always on it), others don't. I'm glad this useless discussion came to a head. Still it was 10x better than a fb status update.

So I choose not to have to see all that by simply not having fb as otherwise there is no way of getting away from the crud. Forums like here though, I can pick and choose what I waste my time on. I have control over my content. I don't have stuff that is insignificant to me rammed down me along with a side helping of targeted advertising.

You do realise the news feed is built up of content from your friends and liked pages? So you have control over who you befriend and what pages, even then you can stop following them or block individual pages (I've blocked things like 9gag and other rubbish so if anyone shares it I won't see it). You can put up as little or as much personal information as you want.

You can make it what you want with a little effort. Just my 2p.

edit: didn't see all of your replies so know I just wasted my time there :p

Facebook is a big factor because it's the number one place to advertise my gigs to the maximum audience. It's also the number one place to find out where other bands are playing. It is very useful for me.

Yes GD is just as bad and I'm always on it because of mostly the dross where Facebook I login once every couple of days because it isn't as funny.
On Facebook you don't get characters like N17, manoz, Easyrider and other such people who are so up themselves that they are that bad they are funny.

To be honest, who looks at an egg and goes "Time to see any problems with this".

I look at an chocolate egg and think "Om nom nom food time"
