As bad as this and all the other attacks are, this just isn't the case, there's always been large amounts of deaths. Terrorists, gorilla fighting and wars.
You will struggle to find research papers that show the world is stagnating and/or declining. By virtually every measure the world is slowly improving.

But positive news doesn't sell as much.
 
Exactly...........The world has always been an evil place with wars, murders and terrorism. Always been mass killings and total wipe out of peoples etc. just that today we have media to report it!

Human race has always been a murderous species!

That reminds me of Agent Smith in the Matrix. He said our species is a virus that spreads and consumes all natural resources and then moves on till everything is consumed. Humans are a virus, we are killing on an epic scale. At some point there will be a reckoning. Spooky. :cool:

Well clearly it is the fault of the West for interfering in... oh wait it happened in Pakistan. Harder for apologists to divert blame away from the fundamentalist ideology behind this one.

It'll still be our fault. Something about a government with Western sympathies blah blah. And because of that children need to die.

Sometimes pointing that out can result in deletions, you've got to tread carefully in these threads. Though to be fair most of the deletions tend to be people who fail to make the distinction between blaming an ideology(fundamentalist Islam) and blaming 'muslims'. Obviously muslims are sadly the victims here too as is often the case in this region.

Easy and effective.
Governments in most country are controlled by public opinion. Use if fear is far better than targeting military/government who are either to big to impact or would just get new people in.

Whilst fear has allowed them to spread over Iraq and Syria. As there's no public support for full millaitry intervention. Even air raids are publicly contested.
