Solo' the Dark Zone last night for a few hours, just trying to level up my DZ lvl although got killed by a few random players, even when I didn't have any loot what's the point lol

Guess I've been lucky so far, apart from rouges of which I have been killed about there times (i try and stay away from them), I have not been killed by a random player in what must be around 30hrs+ in there, a large amount of that time solo.

Loads have helped revive me and I even met up with three randoms yesterday while at an extraction who asked me to join the team. Spent around five hours scavenging and killing enemies.

Makes a nice change from randoms in GTA who will just kill anyone they see :)

The only way an increase in one stat would make X gun better than Y would be if X gun has a talent that now have enough stats for. There is never going to be a set "best gun" for any class - the RNG rolls vary too much. If someone sat down for hours with unlimited crafting materials and constantly crafted them to see what they could get, sure you might start to see a pattern of what gun will end up with better stats; but at the end of the day the handling characteristics of each gun is different, as is everyone's playstyle. I was using my purple iLevel 30 AUG whilst I had a good HE Vector sat in my inventory simply because I loved how stable and accurate the gun was, even with a high RPM - The Vector had better reported DPS when modded, but the inaccuracy an relative instability meant the AUG walked all over it. Since rolling a couple more Vectors I've now switched to that as the crit chance bonus was proving to be a nice increase in damage output when doing PvP and getting up close when combined with my marksmen rifle.

@Furyus, what are your stats looking like across the board? Were you trying on Challenging or Hard? Challenging is notoriously difficult on Russian Consulate, especially if your gear is still mediocre and you aren't on comms with someone knowing what they're doing. If I wasn't bogged down with work I'd come give you a hand and run through it a few times. As for getting better gear for now - make sure you do the daily Hard missions to get the Phoenix Credits from that and then it's up to you. If you haven't completed all the encounters and side missions then get them cracked out as they can always drop good purples and high end items now that you're 30. Same with random / world named bosses - if there's any left on your map it may be worth clearing those out. Other than that, start hitting up the dark zone. Take it easy and don't go trying to jump on the first person you see. At 50k DPS you're just under a third of what I put out using my assault rifle. And if you haven't already, try and buy / find / craft a decent extended magazine mod for your gun - it will give a large boost to the reported stat and real-world DPS.

The phoenix credits, did you get them just by doing the missions on challenging? I really need to get some more for the higher end blueprints!

Yup daily's on hard and challenging.

Hmm how does that work? shouldnt firearms boost all guns?

While I remember what talents/stats do you have on the mp5? wondering if they roll randomly too, my talents on mp5 are rubbish, & I dont think it has a high roll on damage/rpm either, the larger clip size does help against shotgunners tho, not needing to reload before they drop.

Can't remember exactly but I think, one is health regen, skill cooldown and armour destruction is increased by 18%, will check later.

IIRC, damage is about 8800, my vector is now 10.2k though (without any mods). I think RPM is always the same, with a yellow magazine, mine is 1005 RPM and 61 in the mag.

They roll randomly too, I rolled 2 and my other one was even worse :p

EDIT:

Here is the thread comparing the SMG's with different firearms

Props to Big G who helped me with my final missions last night, was fun :D

Thanks Greg

Now to get to 30!!!!

Good fun bud :)

I was doing the daily Russian consulate challenge with 3 randoms and going well till the final bit when one of our team went afk and never came back  Waste of an hour :(

Been on since 08:30 this morning and its been a bit mixed.

Started well, did Russian consulate on hard for the daily, then did Lincoln tunnel on challenging - all good. Got a nice yellow bulletproof vest which bumped my dps to 100k and increased my armour to 3k overall.

Then...i made mistake rolling my mask and replaced a very high firearm stat with low stamina and my dps dropped to 89k. Woops.

Finally, wasted an hour and a half trying the Lincoln tunnel on challenging again, three times. First time, two went afk, second time, I got disconnected from the group, third time we got to the boss, everyone died and then went afk and finally quit.

Ah well, time for work but will be back on tonight. Would like to join some of you if you are running missions :)

We did the Subway Morgue daily Hard mission last night and decided to have a bit of fun by popping as many Cleaner tanks and Grenade boxes as possible. Most fun I've had in days in the game. :) obviously some swearing from Rhodes in the game and perhaps some naughties from the players in chat too. You have been warned.

Just done first challenge daily and I'm liking that it actually does take some effort. Reminds me of clearing heroic dungeons out back in the TBC days.

All dailies done now and apart from 2 encounters I've got left to clear on the map not much left I guess apart from farming rank 50 in the DZ?

Been doing the Police Academy glitch with my m8 Mark a few times :D

No recurring XP but some nice kit dropped

Nice one :)

I just did the Lincoln tunnel on challenging with 3 randoms and we worked well as a team and did it easy. We messed up at the end by pushing up too far but learned our lesson :D

Seems there's a new glitch going around where you can get something silly like 14 people into a mission to make clearing it on challenge stupidly easy.

What kind of stats am I looking for to do the daily challenges?

Daily Hard missions you can do in gear you hit level 30 with. Daily Challenging is a bit of a step up. Ideally you want to be close to 100k DPS and around 50k+ HP; but it all depends on how you play and who you're playing with. Also, skills should be used constantly by everyone ;)

Always fun when you go into dz lone wolfing, then come across a squad of 2 or 3 that see you as easy prey. Happened to me this morning, 3 went rogue on me, popped my defence signature and downed all 3 lmao. You should have heard them on game chat haha

That Russian glitch is a bit crap. Instead we ran Lexington on Challenging and got our best time to be 10 mins and 13 seconds. Our combined DPS was nearly 600k

Fun times

Will be on Gamble.

Awesome :) I have all the weapon parts and electronics for a few yellow blueprints but just don't have the credits! Only got 40 or something as I bought a few items last night.

I have been in the DZ solo almost the whole time I have played, with the exception of playing with Radeon and Copey a few times.

Last night I experienced the same thing - I followed two rogues down into the sewers (they were aware I was following and were luring me down)

They must have forgot they are visible as rogues on the minimap as they were hiding at the bottom of the stairs - quick flashbang and my sub machine gun and they were gone. :P

I am still amazed how friendly the DZ is however. I think once I get a few more yellow items, I will go into the DZ and go rogue instantly to see how I get on. Want more PvP but I may get owned by the high levels
