Hello art work engineers! Prepare the design work!

Drums could do with more compression i reckon. They sound overly loud and harsh.

I like the start of the track though (the ethereal string bit)

be careful on compression or you'll not have the headroom for an engineer to master

dynamics is the key ;)

All of my tracks are mastering at -0.3db so there is headroom.

I don't have the luxury of an engineer unfortunately. Although it does make it easier to apportion blame when things sound horrible (because it is me).

you could invest in ozone and have a bash at mastering yourself. it all depends if you want to put the time in and get on the learning curve

personally, i'd have it mastered by an engineer in a studio. you have to be prepared to have a mastered version eventually, be it done by yourself or an engineer, if you really want this to be a part of your life ( i'm sure you know this )

Ah, misunderstood. I use Ozone 5 and 6 but do it myself so lack the removal and expertise that a proper engineer would deliver.

When I get my 4 songs sorted/chosen I will get it done properly. It'll be interesting to see the difference!

Not my thing at all but quite interested by the complexity to the sound - it feels like there is a much bigger picture to the use of specific tone and pitch, etc. than typical.

I was hoping you'd turn up :) If you get some time could you add the 'magnolia down' label in the same font as the 'future anatomy' design you did earlier? And out of interest, what's the texture on the non-solid propeller blade? Is it as clever as I think it is?

Can you also send me your paypal details via [removed] as I'd like to send you some money :) Thanks for all your help!

I could bore you for hours about the tonal composition and why (and how) it sounds like it does but will spare your time and sanity :)

e: um, the picture changed.

e2: ha, we were cross-posting. Love it, thank you! Send me your paypal details, buddy :)

It is meant to be 2 feathers as the other 2 blades, but looking back, i didn't think it was clear ( it seemed to work in my head ! )

I'll re-add it, and you can take your pick :D

Hi gang!

Anyone up for doing something for this one?

Probably the main change is that this is not for Magnolia Down and is for Sugar Candy Mountain, a band I was in 20 years ago at Uni. We're re-recording the songs from the last gig we ever did in 1994 which comprised of 16 songs.

There'd be payment if the artwork effort was working for everyone involved and was extended.
