I don't see a way out of this for them, unless they just do what he says. Till October, is does Fear Season 2 start up next week?

happily comply, plot revenge, it aint hard is it! Offer the new guy up as the kill if they really do need one.

I just feel things could have gone a lot easier if they had just stopped pratting about and actually put a plan together. They could have secured a whole freaking city by now.

I liked the episode up until the end. Not because of the Negan appearance as his mannerisms were fantastic and his presence was incredibly domineering. The final scene was just lazy and its obvious that the writers watch Game of Thrones because that end had been done 2 other times this season! Glen on the dumpster and just the previous week with Darryl!

Like others have said, it has been done to create a cliffhanger but when its done so often it takes away the surprise and the viewer feels cheated.

It HAS to be a big character, what is the point of all this build up, the way they ended it etc. etc. only for it to be a character that no one really cares about i.e. Aaron, Sasha etc. If it is one of the main characters who has been around since the beginning it will have an even bigger impact on Rick and us the audience...

The producer said they purposely messed around with the angles and order to stop people from trying to work out who gets it.
Also, according to the executive producer, the death scene hasn't even been filmed yet and not even the cast know who it is.

Given that they will want to keep this a secret till season 7, they will all be lying out of their asses :p

Those statements contradict each other, I think I believe rids more than some rumour of a guy playing LP's backwards on his stereo and getting demonic messages...

Except this has be done multiple times and every time, the person who has redone the audio was right :p

Last time it was done was in Arrow when Sara was killed and all we heard was the demonic cover voice, someone re-worked it, it sounded like Thea, every one in this thread and other places said nah definitely not her, why would she do it... come the reveal, it was Thea :p

My money is on Abraham. Just because he mentioned having kids - that's a quick way to get yourself killed.

That's definitely Maggie screaming in that audio

CBA to slow it down to cross check that but its pretty plain what is in that bit of audio when slowed down - but given how much the writers seem to toy with the audience and/or just straight up change things in the subsequent coming back to a scene it might mean nothing at all and they'll contrive something different. Which is why I've become really bored with it :(

Definitely crossed my mind when he started talking like that - he is also one of the few that ostensibly (unless they contrive it) isn't pretty much ruled out by the last minute or so before the end bit.

Those were my thoughts. He's just allowed himself to look past "today" and also finally acknowledged Eugene, he has to be near the top of the list.

Slight disappointed with the episode, the whole being corralled from one road block to another was just that bit too obvious. Though each barrier being more intimidating than the last was nicely done. Top notch acting when they were all on their knees.

Good to see Morgan bin off the "stick" he was beginning to get on my wick. Carol is still one of my favorite characters, hope all these bullets they pumped into her don't stop her going ninja in the future.

Very tense episode by the end. Was interesting to see that everyone seemed relatively calm but Rick looked on the verge of a mental breakdown the whole time. He's certainly been put in his place!

Such a long wait to hear who Lucile's first victim was...

Could go the other way as well and be Eugene - with handing over the ammo making plans and having said his piece he probably doesn't have long on the show one way or another - usually they do that just before a character dies though with Eugene you never know because it would also be the next level of development of that character like they did with Carol.

(IIRC the actor for Eugene is also the only one of that lot with any significant work other than TWD for 2016/17 not that it really means anything necessarily).

Especially the one with the zombies across the road and it was an obvious ambush point - with their experience no matter how bad the situation they wouldn't have put themselves into that position.

Looks like Morgan is gonna be key to next season.

I was waiting for the ambush at every barrier, but as it turns out it fitted the plot better to have them introduce Negan and hand out his punishment in the arena, witnessed by all.

I found the "Morgan" character irritating, his whole persona has been somewhat odd. That takes nothing away from Lennie James, who is another not notch British actor in what is a great cast. Hopefully Carol & Morgan will be key in the next series.

Frustration aside, anyone else think Andrew Lincolns performance was just epic in that final scene?

I love Rick and the whole Ricktatorship thing, to see his reaction last night was fantastic, and the Abraham quote "we're neck deep up ****'s creek with our mouths wide open", that realisation of things are bad. Was also now how the dark drew in with night falling showing the darkening situation they were heading into.

Another good point on fb:

I hate the writing on this show.

Not a good point at all, the RL was probably left at Alexandria so wasn't with them, not like they left the bikers then immediately arrived at this confrontation.

I hate the general public and their backlash over these things, they moan about stupid writing on the show yet go on to write stupid posts on social media.

Agreed, I don't think it would cross your mind when going to visit the Doctor up the road "oh better bring my trusty RPG".

If this should this be in a season 7 thread please move it.

From some comments on Twitter by Scott Gimples it is clear that the survivors include -
Carl because he has a thing with Negan.
Maggie because we will find out what is wrong with her.
I will assume Rick survives.
Please add any additional rumours as we go along.
Andi.

PS The Walking Dead new season usually premiers in October, but who can say for S7.
