Doing a small i3 nuc style build for the sister-in-law was wondering if the Kingston v300 drives are any good as seen a few reports of bad drives.

They are "ok" but older variants had performance issues - I wouldn't rush to use them unless I was trying to save some money reviving an older system that lacked newer versions of SATA personally.

I've used a few other Kingston SSDs without any issues though.

I would avoid them. Even if they are no longer affected by the slower nand and whether that really made any difference I couldn't tell you. However it's still a nasty move by kingston and the crappy sales show that.

The Sandisk SSD Now is a very low cost SSD that I own and thoroughly recommend.

I got one at a good price new for £23 and now wondering if I should just return and get something like a sandisk
