*** Rogue One: A Star Wars Story *** (NOW WITH SPOILERS)

I like the idea of seeing Darth Vader dominating the battle field like a raid boss as well but i don't think it will happen :(

should have clocked this when I watched the trailer

These aren't the oyster cards you're looking for

This is exactly how it should end.
2hrs of getting to know this rag tag bunch of rebel badasses who kick their way through stormtrooper butt to get the plans, only to be utterly wrecked by this unstoppable Sith Lord in the final moments of the film.(

It'd be a nice way to restore some badassness to Vader and show how utterly out their depth a normal person is against a Sith. Although I prefer if he appears a couple of times getting narrowly dodged (even if it costs them a member of the team) make it inevitable that now he's get his eyes on them he will find them and nail them.

It's one of the things that CGI show does well, even with two Jedi on the rebels side the couple of times Vader has appeared has been treated as an "oh ****" moment where the best they can do is stall him long enough to get away.

Darth Vader may well be in the film. Brian Muir who did the original sculpt of the Vader mask, worked on the film and its believed that he was brought back to create a new Vader costume that is close as possible to his original 1977 version. The helmet designs for TESB and ROTJ had subtle differences, so its nice that they are trying to match up certain design elements.
Pity they did not do the same for the stormtroopers which have been altered quite a bit.

But thank the lord most of the old EU is now totally irrelevant.

To be honest some of the new novels (canon) I have read stink up the joint more than just about anything I read in the EU. The new Canon is no better in consistency or quality than the old EU.

I kind of liked the idea of seeing Vader in his pomp, we get Pansy Vader via Hayden and past it Vader in the last 3 films. Hardcore Vader would be brilliant.

Yeah the canon graphic novels is more of what I want to see of Vader. I like the look of this much better than TFA.

In my opinion they are not trying hard enough to make this look like the same universe as the OT. The lighting, costumes and hair all need to have an air late 70s early 80s about them. This looks like a modern CGI production with yet more rag doll storm troopers. :(

A tad worrying that a star wars film needs to be re-shot , I suspect the reason maybe it was just not that good . I hope not though.

All films have reshoots of some kind
TFA did, and that turned out alreet

Hopefully these are just the usual "tweak" type, and not studio interference etc

From the trailer it seems awesome, and thats all we have to go on so far :p

yeah trailer seems awesome and the 'too dark' criticism is worrying... potentially, given it is Disney that isn't happy, that could be studio interference in an otherwise awesome movie that they feel isn't quite right for their brand
