What have you done to your car today?

Delicious fresh ATF was today's job.

Box taxes 7l but you only get 4 out when you drain it because the torque converter holds so much. The DIY method is drain - fill - drive, 3 times...so 12l of ATF needed of a peculiar spec which costs £12 a litre! Managed to get 20l (conveniently in 5x4l bottles so I could just tip a whole bottle in each time) for £50 delivered from Germany. No more vibration at a standstill and changes are super smooth now, when you're driving normally you can't feel the changes at all. A time consuming job but well worth it.

Also started doing the headlight polishing thing but got rained off :(

Where did you get them from Andi?

I did actually try and get some before settling for the Valeos, only to be told that due to a fire, certain sizes weren't available.

Taken off the door card and then fixed the speakers and replaced the door handles as the paint had cracked. Got the passenger to do tomorrow. Then went for a nice drive :)

Cleaned the inside, particularly the back, including removing the carpet.

Found drug bags (no drugs). Window tints explained!

In a Toyota?! :p:p

Back of mine became dirtier thanks to the roads, so I now only need to wash the rear as the front is still spotless. :(

My rear is always dirty.

My car is the same.

BA da psh!

Actually there is also something in the rain because my car looks like it's covered with ash after a brief shower.

Yeah! There was also some foil, and some receipts from service stations dated 2011...

As well as cleaning I also took the seatbelt buckles out, extended the seatbelts and joined them together in the middle (which stops them rubbing/flapping on the side plastic when I go round corners, and also gives me a handy way to secure my tools/stuff bag in a convenient position... And because I'm a massive faggot and think it looks better now because there's something dividing up the space...) And took the inside boot trim off because it rattled like hell.

Bring on the hate for pointless seat removal. Sounds really good now though... :D

There's a Saharan dust cloud at the min.

Washed, clayed, repaired chips and waxed mine today. Looks lovely!

Next weeks hire car. First impressions are its okay. Has sat nav/media infotainment etc. The clutch feels very strange, the pedal feels long but the biting point is right at the top so feels uncomfortable. Will see how I get on with it - wanted an auto/diesel but this a petrol manual (I'm guessing 1.2 tsi).

Just lol though at people who think the interior quality of SEAT is on par with Audi. Not even close IMO.

Who said that? Seats interior is absolutely dreadful. Mrs wants one but even shes having doubts now after looking at the bland interior.

Was Ibizas she was looking at though.

Not my car but sorted out trading my fathers RCZ in for a 2015 MX5.

He had the RCZ as an ex-demo with just 8k on it when he bought it, put a further 13k on it in the past 4-5yrs while sticking to the Peugeot servicing schedule.
A few days ago it threw up the EML and went into limp home mode, a trip to Peugeot later and apparently it's a common fault with the VVT, needs a whole new top end to the tune of £3200, a specialist wanted £2.5k.

Absolutely shocking for a 5yr old flagship model with the history his car has, turned me away from the marque forever.
