This "X is poor man's Y" quotation is often spouted by people that haven't driven X or Y, and can probably afford neither.

Now now it's just opinions and they never hurt anyone and we all have them. Perceptions can be misleading but I had my GT3 9 years ago and I'm older now too and you know what, badges and brands were something I worried about in my 20's, not in my 40's. I've never sought advice really on here, but always interested to read people's opinions.

I was very 50/50 on the R8 V10 but after going on a trip to Spa with one last year I'm sold. I think the car outperforms the price tag, easy to live with day to day but really starts to show it's colours when pushing on.

Enjoy Housey, I'm sure you will, it's just a shame you can't use it to it's full potential on our roads. Deserves to be on track or on the continent, which I'm sure it will be soon :D

If I had the cash I'd have to test drive one of these in my list of Top 5 which one do I buy cars.
As I've never driven one I can only imagine it would be ****** awesome.

Conclusion = You win the Internets !!!

Looks excellent, enjoy :)

Always flirting with the idea of swapping my DB9 for an R8 but just seems too "wedding hire-y" to me.

Inclined to agree, 99% of the ones I see are 2007 V8s driven by furniture salesmen who think they're "ballin'" when in reality they've just realized they can afford the monthly's on what is now a rather cheap car.

Whilst I certainly can't afford one,I've driven an R8 V10 and it was utterly epic doesn't change my view though at this price point there's other options with arguably better pedigree, perception can be wrong I don't doubt that but it's still my perception rightly or wrongly.

Housey likes it and good on him, it's still a superb lovely car without question, I'm just surprised he opted for it.

But can your fist fit in the exhaust pipe? Actually they probably can. mine fit inside JP's
