Would you swap ?

A 2008 Astra 1.8 petrol Life (auto) with 30k on the clock for a 2006 Volvo S60 D5 2.4 diesel with 60k on the clock, if there was no cost involved ?

Don't need a diesel, only do around 3k miles a year max, a bigger family car would be nice plus my astra has poor features, the volvo has lots (cruise control, leather seats etc).

Considering that the S60 is worth about double that of your Astra (£6k ish vs £3.5k ish) then I would bite whoever's hand off that is offering the trade.

Ok good, that was my thinking too. Its not actually a trade, my Dad has ordered a new car and has offered to give me the Volvo, so i can sell the Astra.

Surprised no one else has mentioned it, but at 3k/year you may end up with DPF issues.

But for free you can't really complain

Gut the DPF and smoke up the place, then get it MOT'd at a 'friendly' test center.

S60 D5 is a great car, Astra Petrol is a terrible car (sorry) so would be a no brainer for me.

D5 is one of the best sounding diesels on the road, but certainly not the best on economy mind
