Did I miss something when did USA join the EU since it is so good?

You are echoing what London Mayor Boris Johnson says as American hypocrisy, where the US would never join something like the EU.

But the fact of the matter is that the US looks to its own interests, and this means it prefers the UK to remain in the EU for a whole host of reasons.

By that reckoning, the entire world could be in the EU!

Funny thing is, that would probably be a far greater solution for the UK than the current status quo. At least there would be some more inviting countires for the eastern europeans to emigrate to.

Only if they meet the criteria to join which most of the world do not. Then they have to actually want to join which they do not. Quite a few countries in Europe can not join because they do not meet the criteria.

Question: Are there any EU heads of state or European based big businesses putting forward good reasons for the UK to leave the EU?

Businesses yes. Heads of state there have been out of EU ones only such as Iceland etc. Other non EU heads/ex heads have said leave.

Cameron's deal does not mean we have "influence". It shows they realise we might leave. We only have the weak, watered down, non-legally binding deal because we are on the verge of leaving, unlike any other country.

Why should anyone care if Britain leaves, unless Britain is influential... Which it is.

Yes we do sell mainly services, 30% of which go to the USA and an increasing amount that goes to Switzerland, China, Japan, Australia, Canada. None of which are in the EU, which is going backwards economically. Yes we do services trade with France and Germany but this is likely to fall given the state of the Eurozone, and places that are growing fastest (list here) will demand more. Not a single EU country in the top 29 fastest growing economies globally. And we can't do deals with any of them that are in our best interest.

You must be trolling with some of these posts. What does increasing amount mean? 10% yearly? 0.1%? 0.0001%?? Switzerland is in the EU Single Market and services sold to the EU Single Market account for more than 30% of the total. What does growth have to do with anything? Do you just post random links when there's a vague connection to your point? You want Britain to sell services to Botswana, Tajikistan, Iraq and the rest of the **** holes on that list? Good luck with that.

Must say that Obama's hypocritical intervention (involving what seems to be economic blackmail) has done nothing to bring me back over the fence. What a great "friend".

Now can we have Cameron making a speech in the US about how they shouldn't elect Donald Trump and see how that goes down? :)

So our so called best friend in the US, Obama says we will go to the back of the line for trade deals?

But hey, doing business with the Saudis and Isreal is a ok.

EU heads of state? Nah. Leaders of something? Yes: Marine Le Pen, a few Danish far-right starlets, a pollster in Sweden, Geert Wilders... grand pickings them. The will of 'free' Europe, haha.:D Obviously a Brexiter would be more up to date on their endorsements.

I do question the pro EU crowd here as they seem to have a lot of time to post.

Not too busy then I suppose!

I can scan the forum but I have very little time to post as am busy with life and work.

I don't care for qualifications or education, as this has no real impact on what is happening.

Sometimes you need to step out the box and look under the rug.

Obama is not even an American so go figure.

Just follow the money if you know what I mean, if you don't then get learning.;)

A lot of people seems to be ****ed that Obama had the audacity to use freedom of speech and give his opinion. How dare he does that...Who does he think he is.

It has nothing to do with America so WTF?

What has America got to do with the EU?

Tipp maybe?

Pro EU crowd are clueless and it does make me chuckle a little with some of the arguments.

If you actually know how things work, which I have delved into very deeply into you will see. ;)

Cannot see the wood for the trees, so to say. :D
